Yeonu's POV
(Y/N's POV)

She stood up from the table and my eyes followed her as she made her exit from the cafe. Somehow, her name doesn't fit her at all, and it sounded like my childhood friend's name.

That was totally a weird encounter, I wonder what Kai would say about this. I whip my phone out from my pocket, and chatted Kai about today's happenings.

It might be weird but I am new to this whole place, especially because I just moved about two months ago. My mother and father wasn't very supportive, and neither was my siblings. All I had was myself.

"Okay," I said as I open my chat with Kai upon seeing a reply.

Stupid Kai: What do you mean?

There's this girl I encountered, her name is familiar.

Stupid Kai: Really? What's her name? ㅎㅅㅎ

Kim Minjeong? From Class B-3. You know her?

Stupid Kai: Oh man, you're in it for a treat. Did you talk with her? ㅡ.ㅡ

I did, but she just ran away... I must've scared her though 😅

Pretty embarassing 🥹

Stupid Kai: Well, that's how they are... I can't believe you met her 🙂

Ah, so is that everyone's dream now? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Stupid Kai: ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Stupid Kai: Yeah whatever, I'll be off.

» end of convo «

I put my phone down chuckling lightly. The conversation was well too funny, and I know it is always like that with Kai.

While I was occupied with being joyful and happy, I got a text from someone, and it popped out of my notification panel. I quickly took a glance and upon seeing the name, my heart sank. It was my mother.

'Your father wants to talk to you, stop by when you can. Now is better.'

"Goodness mom... I'm not a dog..." I said as I ruffle my hair in annoyance. I put my head down on the table and looked at my smoothie. The beads of evaporation, the mist it creates from inside the cup. All I could think is, 'I wish I could talk to someone now...'

It was better to go now, that's what mom said. So, I just stood up from my seat taking the smoothie along with me. I left the cafe and took a bus nearby.

After a few minutes, I arrived at my stop. I got off the bus in a hurry, and power walked through the neighborhood of my home street. "I hate the memories it brings back," I said as I remembered some of the bad memories back then, but I shook off the feeling.

While walking, all I can hear was the barking of dogs. The constant shouting from a nearby neighbor, and the sound of cars passing by. But then I reached my parent's house, and it... looks well.

It was hard, and I felt my hands tremble. Not from fear, but from nervousness. My heart feels too deep in the dumps, and it feels like the cat caught my throat. My lips are dry, and my eyes are too lazy to look. To see this.
