Chapter 16

The sun rays get to my eyes and I open them.

I always forget to close the curtains.
I look down at the clock

" It's 8:00? I guess I really slept in."

I usually wake up early but I didn't understand why I woke up so late.
I get up, wash up, drees up and go downstairs.

I see Nicky already sitting and eating the breakfast which were made by the maids.

I sit down beside him.

" Good morning Nicky." I say sweetly to him and he smiles

" Morning Sister. How come you woke up late today?" He says

" Mm, I really don't know why though." I say

" let's just eat." I say and Kate brings me the food.

" Thanks" I say.

She was the only one who I talked to more and she was really nice.

I start to eat and Nicky says to me,
" Erm, sister, Brother Nath told me he had business to attend to so he left after telling the maids to cook for us."

" Oh ok" I was wondering why he wasn't here. He'd probably be here already by this time.

But anyway I didn't want to get too involved in his matters.
I was already humiliated so much by what Rica said yesterday, so I wanted to stay completely away from him.

I couldn't or I should say I shouldn't mingle with such people.

We eat and we're done.

Nicky rans off to watch his cartoon. I felt bored and walked around the house.

I just realized his house was the only  house in the neighborhood.

It was very quiet and peaceful unlike my old place with kids moving here and there playing around.

I was actually missing my childhood friends back home.
I remember Ashley, Lea, Sarah and my best pal, Carlos.

He was really nice and sweet. He was also good looking too.
I remember I used to have a crush on him. But it was all child's play.
He probably doesn't even remember me.

*sighs* being in my small town was much more better than this big city.

I continue to walk around the house

Nath's POV

I was in my mask, sitting in my chair working tirelessly.
Fuck....

I groan and for fuck sake, I didn't take any rest from the time I came.
It is now 2 and I continued working.

" Derick, come to my office now" I say
through the mini pods.

" Ok boss" he says and then less than a second he knocks.

" Come in" I say and he enters while I still had my head facing down the computer.

" Boss, you called for me?" He says bowing in a respectful manner.

" Mm, look through these again, and make any recommendable corrections." I say as I hand over a document and he flips through it.

" Sure boss" he says and I look down at my computer.

" Erm, boss, I found a senior manager but it's left with your expectations" he says and I look up at him.

" You've already found someone so soon?" I say

" Mm yes boss" he says

" Hm ok. Bring him here for interview" I say

" Mm ok boss" then he leaves.
