Small hiccups filled the air, there chest bouncing from the force as exhausting wracked there small body. There fingers gripped the frayed edges of there clothes with desperation, minute shaking with every breath, There face was covered with tears both new and old, making it grimy to the touch
Panic pressed at them, clawed and ripped at there mind like an angry monster.
Today had been a bad day, and tomorrow would not be any better.
They'd stopped trying to stop crying, the one thing they had plenty of was water. Food was scarce, and there clothes were more rags then clothes. There bones felt brittle under there grasp, fine thin cracks covered then in need of more magic then he got.
Babybones needed a lot of magic from the parent.
the clinking of chains was heard as he moved his legs as he tried to get a bit more comfy, all it did was make the clasp around his leg dig in a bit less.
Bang Bang Bang
"Shut up you little Freak!" shouted a voice outside his tiny tiny prison, having banged on the walls.
He went dead quiet, and while no more noise came from his prison tears slipped down his face.
"Little brat..." snarled the owner of the voice, he heard them stomp away.
Quietly he stood up, peering outside the small grimy window to the sight of village outside.
Snow was falling, was it really winter again.
The sound of a door slamming was heard, he could barely make out the burly angry form of the village chief stomping away towards the bar. He flinched, he hoped they wouldn't get drunk.. if they beat him again he doubted he would survive as he was so much weaker then last time.
He stood there as night covered the land, his tiny hole of a prison pretty pitch black his eye lights too dim to even effect it anymore. Slowly a longer sliver of a moon rise into a mostly cloudy sky, he wanted to feel anger, hate.. anything.
All he felt was a gnawing emptiness.
"Why?" Dream rasped, wishing he knew why Nightmare had done this.
He'd loved Nightmare. done everything, kept the humans away from there tree.
"Nothing personal Dream, but i will have my freedom... they only want you.." Nightmare laughed cruelly as he pushed Dream to the ground, ripping there weapon from his hands.
"I'll just burn the tree behind me," they smirked as the village chained Dreams small form up.
It didn't make sense, Nightmare was calm, kind. Rather gentle, and actually shy.
Was everything eh knew a lie? He'd smelled burning that night, and and a feeling of anguish within his soul.
The tree was gone, and the villagers locked him up here. Why was he here, why did they want him other then to hurt him?
Maybe next time the human chief came... he'd let go, allow himself to never wake up from the pain ever again.
He'd heard the villagers say monsters souls shattered upon death and bodies dusted, hopefully he still counted as one to go quickly.
He curled in the hay that was his bed, exhaustion pulling him to sleep as a snowstorm began outside.
