-Draculaura wonders if she's being haunted. No, really. This had been the one Home Ick project that she just can't get right. It's a simple scarerdough recipem well it should be simple. Apparently, she's bad at baking. Draculaura has made it three separate times, and it comes out light and airy, crispy on the outside, and warm. So gross! It should be heavy and dense, soggy on the outside, and cold. Her mother has given her tips, but it doesn't help. Her father has given her tips, but it doesn't help. Nothing has helped! It's driving her, like, totally crazy! She can't believe she's so bad at making such a simple recipe. She doesn't want to fail.
“You're really having trouble with it, huh?” Frankie asked as they walked down the hall with the other three. Draculaura cupped her own cheeks in distress. “Yes, I swear I'm being haunted.” She whined. “Oh my Ra, couldn't be me. Mine turned out perfect on my first try.” Cleo flipped her hair. “I think I need help.” Draculaura conceded. “I would help but… I don't want to.” Cleo said honestly. “I'm actually busy after school, so I can't help either. I'm so sorry, Ghoul!” Frankie said, feeling bad. “Well, I guess I could help ya after Fear practice. Mine turned out fine.” Clawdeen shrugged. Draculaura looked at the taller. “Wait, really?” She asked with a gasp.
Clawdeen nodded, her curls bouncing with the movement. “Of course. You're my best ghoul and ghouls help ghouls.” She stated. Draculaura squealed and hugged the taller. “Thank you so much, Clawdeen! I owe you!” She said in excitement. Clawdeen shook her head and hugged the shorter back. “Don't worry about it. Let's work on it together afta Fear practice.” She told her “Okay. Thank you, thank you!” Draculaura smiled up at the other. Clawdeen rolled her eyes. “Don't thank me just yet, Boo.” She laughed lightly.

-After Fear practice, Draculaura quickly cleaned up and headed to the Home Ick room. She needed to ask Mrs. Kindergrübber for some time in the classroom to work on her project again. The lady had already given her an extension, and she intended to take advantage of it. Mrs. Kindergrübber allowed it, and she headed to her workstation to set up. Draculaura wanted everything to be ready by the time Clawdeen showed up. She had to talk to Clawd before coming, which wasn't a big deal. They have a lot of time. Draculaura put on her apron and grabbed the ingredients. When Clawdeen finally arrived, they immediately got to work.
Going through the recipe for a fourth time felt familiar. She's done it three other times, and Clawdeen was doing it exactly how she did it. Mrs. Kindergrübber spoke up to let them know she had to leave the classroom for a moment, and Draculaura felt the bad feeling in her stomach creep in. It's one she's had every time she's attempted the recipe. It usually meant something was about to go wrong. She was right because as soon as the teacher left, all the lights went out but the one above their workstation. It was basically a spotlight on the failure that was about to come. “That's normal.” Clawdeen said, raising a bushy eyebrow.
“See! I told you I was haunted.” Draculaura told her. “Let's just keep goin'.” Clawdeen waved it off. The two continued to work, and the sinking feeling in her stomach started to lighten. She hasn't made a mistake yet. If she had surely, Clawdeen would have pointed it out. Maybe this time it will turn out, right? They were nearly finished, but they had to knead the dough a little. So after dusting the table with ash and slapping the squishy dough on its top, Draculaura started kneading the only way she knew how. Clawdeen watched her, and she suddenly felt a little shy but ignored it until the other spoke up. “There's your problem. You're not kneadin' hard enough, Ghoul.” She pointed out.
Draculaura flinched, then stopped and looked at her work. “I'm not?” She asked, confused. “You have to really dig in. I'll show ya.” Clawdeen said, and the other moved over to let her have the space. Draculaura watched the taller flip the dough over and press the heels of her paws into it, making it squish out a lot. The technique is definitely different, heavier, harsher, less precise. When Clawdeen stopped, they traded places, and Draculaura tried doing the same thing, but she's just too short and has noodle arms. Clawdeen fixed the short issue with a stool, but Draculaura still couldn't get the technique right no matter how she tried to do it.
“Let me help, yeah?” Clawdeen said. The shorter was going to move, but Clawdeen went behind her and pressed their bodies against each other. Draculaura usually wouldn't find that a big deal. They hug all the time, but for some reason, it felt different. The dim empty room, the warmth of the body tall behind her, the breath on the skin of her neck, the arms moving around her to grab her cold hands. Together, Clawdeen pressed their hands to the squishy dough, making it press flat and then repeating the process she had shown Draculaura earlier. She gulped, feeling nervous. Clawdeen was talking, but she couldn't hear what she was saying.
Why is her heart pounding so loud? Why does her face feel so hot? Why does her body react to such a simple action? Before she could figure it out, Clawdeen was pulling away but not moving out from behind her. Slowly, Draculaura turned around on the stool to see the other looking at her intently. Sharp yellow eyes, red full lips, soft fluffy fur, pretty bouncy curls. Draculaura was leaning towards the other, and their lips met for a moment. She jerked back only for Clawdeen to growl and trap her against the counter, taking over her lips instead. The kiss was making her head fuzzy, and her butt was pressing into the edge of the table, but she didn't care about that at all.
They parted, panting a little. Draculaura covered her mouth with one hand as her cheeks flushed hard, and her eyes widened. She realized the full extent of what they had done, but not only that. She initiated it, and Clawdeen returned it and more. What does that mean? Draculaura scrambled to get the dough in the baking tray and put it up so it could rise. She then dusted her apron off, noticing it was abnormally quiet, but it had been since they stopped kissing. Gosh, does she wish they could do that again? Did she even want to stop? What's wrong with her, Clawdeen is her best ghoul! Best ghoul with really good kissing skills. Crap. Draculaura sighed and glanced to the other, finding her lazily looking at the other.
“I guess we're done. Thank you for the help.” She said shyly as she looked down at her pale hands. A warm one cupped her face and lifted it up. “Don't worry about it, Draculaura.” She said almost with a purr. Draculaura nodded dumbly as she looked up at the other. She wanted to kiss her again? Was it wrong? Clawd would be upset. She might ruin their relationship. But she can't help but lean forward and kiss her best ghoul again. Clawdeen accepted it easily. Maybe the classroom wasn't haunted. Maybe all the failed attempts were meant to happen so that Clawdeen would help her. And help her she did, against a different table, until the teacher returned.
