Chapter nineteen:
She's tired.

For the passed months, our relationship was stayed. We just like a best friend having a banters as always like we used to be.

But life's being so unexpected. My Tatay admits on the hospital because he was hit by car while nagtitinda siya since he's a street foods vendor.

Alexis didn't know that. For two months he became busy too. I understand that since he's a Medicine student.

Unexpectedly, I always late passing my plates because my mind too occupied. I didn't get enough sleep every days.

One day, unexpectedly I saw him with his vintage car again. Wearing his charming smiles that giving me a rest at all cost. His brightest smiles became my solace.

"Are you okay? Did you sleep?" he asked me while frowning his forehead to me.

I smiled then hugs him, "I'm fine just busy with.... my plates."

We walk inside my apartment and while we are talking, Erica my best friend get inside my apartment.

Erica's face is like she's disbelief, disappointment and mad at me.

"Mieshaniel! Ano? scholar ka diba!? akala ko ba gusto mong maging Summa Cum Laude!? Ano 'tong nababalitaan ko!?" she said.

"Bakit late ka na nagpapasa ng plates mo!? Alam mo bang nadidisapoint na sayo ang mga Professor natin!? Nasan na raw ang dating Mieshaniel na sobrang galing sa lahat!" she's really frustrated.

"Erica... I was just late------" my words cut by her.

"dammit, Mieshaniel! Naiintindihan namin na nasa hospital ang Tatay mo! pero sana huwag mong hayaan pagaaral mo!" she said again.

I gulped. Alexis didn't know that.

"Kaunti na lang, Mieshaniel tanggal ka na sa rank 1 ng Dean's lister... ayusin at tulungan mo naman sarili mo." Erica said with her serious tone. "Ikaw ang nangunguna sa lahat ng Architecture students tapos ganito?? Mieshaniel Seraya, hindi na ikaw ito." she said leaving my apartment.

After my best friend, Erica leaves us on my apartment, I can't take tiredness I feel. My tears burst at napaupo na ako.

I feel Alexis presence beside me and slowly embrace me inside his arms.

"I don't know what to do...." I whispered while sobbing inside his arms.

I held Mieshaniel close, comforting her.

"I'm here, my love. Tell me everything."

Her tears soaked my shirt as she shared her struggles.

Tatay's accident, her academic struggles, Erica's concerns.

I listened attentively, my heart aching for her.

"Don't worry, I'm here to support you."

Mieshaniel's grip on my arm tightened.

"I feel so lost, Alexis. I'm failing everyone."

I gently lifted her chin, meeting her gaze.

"You're not failing, my love. You're strong."

Together, we'll face these challenges.

"We'll get through this, together."

My lips brushed against hers, a reassuring kiss.

Mieshaniel's tears slowly subsided.

I feel so tired. After that day. I slowly gaining my grades but still my Tatay still in the hospital. We can't afford his maintenance and also, his hospital bills.

I decided to go at UP Medicine, to see him. I want and I need him. I want to rest at his emrace arms.

While I was walking near at the gate then I saw him..... pilit nilalayo ang isang babae sa kanya.

That's not Rinshea.

Who's this girl?

Suddenly, unexpected scene that made me stunned.

The girl kissed him. What the h-ll!? I know he was stunned because of that but I don't know why my mind became closed.

"Ang galing, Madrid." I said that his gaze widened because of my voice. "Susurpresahin sana kita.... You always make an entrance to surprise me. Even this?"

"Love, this is a mistake..."I cut his words.

"I don't need your explanation!" I shouted at him.

I slapped the girl beside him with my jaw clench.

"I hate you, Zeus!"

My last words before I left him.

"Mieshaniel, wait!" I shouted, but she was gone.

Regret washed over me as I faced the stunned girl.

"Sorry, I don't even know you," I said, frustration mounting.

The girl glared, rubbing her slapped cheek.

I rushed after Mieshaniel, desperate to explain.

Not now, when she's already struggling.

I found her near the gate, tears streaming down.

"Mieshaniel, please listen..." I begged.

She spun around, eyes blazing.

"Leave me alone, Alexis!"

Her pain and anger pierced my heart.

"What you saw wasn't what it seemed."

Mieshaniel's gaze cut through me.

"I don't care. Just leave me."

My world crumbled as I watched her walk away.

What have I done? How can I fix this?
