"That fucking bitch!!!" My best friend Jillian exclaims, her manicured nails grasping her phone as she stared wide eyed at it. "Olivia Maston cheated on Aidan Tallows, who is dumb enough to do that?" she rants. I shrug in response, working on a random sketch, sitting across from her. "Are we surprised? She's been a bitch since freshman year," I tell her. She tilts her head in acknowledgement, "True, but still! He's cute as hell, he's got husky energy," she raises her brows repeatedly, making me laugh.
"Lil's, you promriseddd you'd come to the bonfire tonight, you're not going to bail on me, are you?" she asks. I take a deep breath. This bonfire was going to kick off the football season, and as a cheerleader, football games were everything to her.
If you glanced at us, you'd never guess how close we were. Jillian had brunette hair that reached her ribs, complimenting her olive toned skin. She wore classic clothing, think Blair Waldorf just slightly more modern. Her major? Business. She was practically Rory Gilmore if she wasn't toxic and narcissistic.
Me? My jet black hair stopped just before my bust, with micro bangs that rested above my eyebrows. My skin was pale, but mainly covered in tattoos, which complimented my dark 2000's alt-girl wardrobe. I had my vertical labret and eyebrow pierced, compared to Jillian's classic earrings.
I'd known Jillian since high school. She had transferred her sophomore year, and we actually met by quite literally running into each other. Since then, we became inseparable. We applied to the same schools, dormed together, and now here we are as Juniors in college, closer than ever.
"I'll go, but I'm definitely getting stoned before," I tell her, she squeals and runs over to hug me, suffocating me. I pat her shoulder, "Okay okay, calm down," I tell her, she laughs as she backs off. "I know, personal space and all,"
Before the Bonfire
Jillian and Cady sat on the floor in front of the mirror, doing their makeup while singing along to the music Cady blasted. They already had two shots to pre-game, telling me that it was going to be a long night.
Cady was still new to me, she was nice and all, but only transferred this year. Jillian and her seemed to click, and part of me found it refreshing that she had someone to match her energy when I couldn't. I watched as they sang their hearts outs, as I checked my eyeliner out in my eyeshadow palette mirror. I didn't wear a ton of makeup, mainly concealer, blush, lip liners, and eye makeup.
"Soooo, how's it going between you and Jackson?" Jillian asks Cady, to which she blushes. "I don't know, he's been coming to my dorm at night and just hanging out," she explains. Jackson was on the football team, he was a starter actually. He was every girls dream at 180 pounds of muscle, standing 6'4 and brown eyes that would convince anyone to do whatever he wanted.
"Oh he's soooo falling for you! No guy does that unless he wants some, and I KNOW you haven't given that up yet," Jillian outs her, Cady glances at me in the mirror and I give her a shrug, letting her know I don't care.
"Liana, we need to fund you a man, your curves are to die for, and they shall be worshipped!" Jillian exclaims, the shots clearly hitting her. I chuckle at her, "You know I'm not interested in anyone here," I remind her, she rolls her eyes at me and looks back at her reflection, perfecting her blush.
"I'm just sayingggg, nothing wrong with getting some," she says in a sing-song voice. I roll my eyes at her. I hadn't been in a relationship since freshman year. I fell for none other than Chase Lyons, he was in our freshman class and on the weightlifting team. He was a beast, 6'-foot tall and muscular but in a lumber jack sort of way, compared to my 5'-foot chubby stature. Don't get me wrong, I had ass and tits and loved it, though I was nowhere near Jillian or Cady's body types, both of them were size 4's.
