As ruin watched Homura finish of the phoenix, he was notnsure whether to be happy or fearfull. He was plagued with doubts whether that was thenreal Homura he was looking at or a demon descended straight from hell.
"Relax, I'm pretty sure its just Homura putting on an act to scare me," Ruin reassured himself, though his gaze lingered uneasily on the phoenix's dismembered form, "she's just joking around, she'll be back to normal in no time," he whispered, a tremor in his voice betraying his uncertainty.
Homura while stared at the Phoenix's body which was now in different parts for along time before snapping her heads towards ruin. "Come on Homura stop joking, you can go back to normal since you already killed all the beasts," Ruin said, his voice quivering as his heart plummeted. The sight of Homura's blood-stained visage, twisted into a sinister grin, shook him to the core—could this truly be her?
The instinct to flee sirged within him but with the wound he had sustained he knew he couldn't get far not that even Homura would have a problem catching up to him in his top condition.
Ruin seeing no way out of this as Homura started approaching him slowly put his hands together and started muttering," um.....great deity who is overwatching us , I know we have never seen eye to eye but if you save me now , I promise i will become a monk and dedicate my life in your service....Amen." He peekednthrough squinted eyes hoping to see some kind of divine intervention but Homura was still approaching him unhindered."Fuck! Why did I think that would work!" Ruin cursed as he desperately searched for anything that could help him not be turned into the next charred minced meat.
Homura suddenly stopped in her tracks as she looked at Ruin's wrist. Confusion gave way to realization as Ruin recognized her fixation on the bracelet she had gifted him. Immediately Ruin started showing it to her desperately hoping this is his chance to survive.
The malevolent smile that had twisted Homura's features softened, warmth replacing the cold fury as the oppressive and suffocating aura dissipated and her eyes regained their natural purple hue.
Homura exhaled deeply, the tension leaving her body as she looked at Ruin with a gentle smile. "I told you I would win," she said weakly before her knees buckled, bringing her to the ground. Tears streamed down Ruin's cheeks as he lay on the ground he too unable to move.
"Obviously, I always knew you would win, I never doubted you for a second." Ruin said,"But you know you really scared me back then, I thought I was done for."
"Ha! I know, I was still conscious of what was happening and i saw you even turning to the divine light, I never saw you as the spiritual kind," Homura chided him while laughing. "Whatever, just never use that skill again, what really matters is that we wo..." Ruin's expression suddenly turned panicked as he shouted out in warning "Move Homura!"As Homura's eyes widened in shock, she felt a searing pain spreading through her body. The warning echoed in her mind, but it was too late. She looked down, and there it was, a grotesque claw piercing her torso. Warm blood bubbled out, staining her clothes, as she struggled to comprehend what was happening.
