Hae-won
I raised my hand to go to the bathroom, and the teacher excused me. As I started walking out, I heard footsteps behind me. I turned to see Jaehyun following me.
“What are you doing?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.
He just smirked. “Nothing, what do you mean?”
I rolled my eyes and tried walking faster to leave him behind, but he sped up to match my pace. “People are gonna assume weird things, Jaehyun.”
He gave me a look of fake innocence. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
I hurried my steps, but he kept up with me until, finally, the bathroom was in sight. I darted inside, hoping that taking long enough would make him go back to class. After a while, I peeked out, relieved not to see him. I let out a sigh and started walking back when he suddenly popped out from behind the door, making me bump into him face first.
“Ouch! What are you doing?” I complained, rubbing my forehead.
He laughed. “You’re so clumsy.”
I was about to walk off when I noticed my lipstick had left a stain on his shirt. Panicking, I quickly rubbed at the spot, but it wouldn’t budge.
“Guess it’s not coming off,” he said with a smug grin.
I shot him a glare. “You better wash it off before coming back to class.” And with that, I stormed off, grateful he wasn’t following me this time.
Back in class, I tried focused on the lesson, but I could feel Sunghoon’s gaze on me the entire time. A few minutes later, Jaehyun walked in, with the lipstick stain still on his shirt. My jaw dropped, but I quickly composed myself. This idiot is seriously going to get it after class. He sat down and gave me a smirk, which I ignored by hiding my face.
The bell finally rang, and I quickly packed up my books, hoping to catch Jaehyun before he left. Spotting him about to walk out, I hurried over and grabbed his wrist, pulling him aside.
“Hey! What’s this about?” he asked, a playful glint in his eyes.
I shot him a glare. “You think this is funny?”
He grinned, shrugging casually. “I don’t know, you tell me.”
I dragged him further down the hallway, away from the lingering eyes of our classmates, and finally stopped in an empty corner. I crossed my arms, narrowing my eyes at him. “What part of ‘get rid of the stain’ didn’t you understand?”
He shrugged, “I tried, but I guess it’s more stubborn than I thought.”
I sighed, feeling my frustration rise. “Everyone thinks there’s something going on between us now. This whole thing is ridiculous.”
He leaned back against the wall, hands in his pockets, mischief glinting in his eyes. “You could use a little excitement, don’t you think? Besides, my shirt looks better now, don't you think?”
I rolled my eyes, not wanting to give him the satisfaction. “Just... tone it down, okay? I don’t need any more rumors.”
Jaehyun’s smirk softened, but there was still a playful edge in his voice. “Sure, sure. Whatever you say, Hae-won.” He pushed himself off the wall, giving me a wink before walking away, leaving me standing there, feeling a strange mix of annoyance and... something else. Something I didn't recognise.
