Cid kagenou ~ POV.
Rain drippled on the asphalt as i walked through the night in silence, barely paying mind to the chatter and gossip spewed by the denizens.
"I got a new .... phone !" A blue haired girl cried, showing the device to her companion in evident joy.
I languidly took a glance at the device - which was the new phone on the market i believed - before returning my gaze to the path at hand.
So superficial and easily excitable these people were by such trivialities that it sickened me to the core, making me adhor and curse the witch responsible for this world even more.
Here no one craved battle, blasts of energy or desired an epic confrontration between the forces of good and evil - everyone simply just content on living their lives, playing to the government and eventually dying one day.
It reminded me eerily of my previous life, a perfect replica, almost close but not quite the same yet. The witch did try her best with what she had but it still wasn't an absolute copy.
I buried the memory down; closing my eyes in pain as i remembered how her malevolent magic had pried into my memories, shuffling and ruffling through all of it; reading, assessing and analysing every content of my brain - trying to find out what made "shadow" tick.
It was truly the day that i had f**ked up and will live to regret forever.
I stopped at the pedestrian crosswalk with the grocery bag in hand, staring at the traffic light, waiting for it to turn red before moving forward.
A vehicle slowly stopped to a halt as the light clicked red, indicating the go ahead for pedestrians to cross over to the other side.
I brought out my phone and gazed at the message sent while striding forward to cross the road to the other side, my palm tightening into a fist as i validated the sender.
'Don't forget the eggs and a little something for yourself ....' it read, followed by crossed emoji's of love and adoration.
It took all of my willpower and self-control not to smash and stomp on it, breaking the device to pieces, with me merely just returning it back to my pocket - glaring forward in restrained anger and rage.
A man dressed in a suit hastily sidestepped me with his companion: a petite girl dressed in a dress and a coat, the two turning afterward to stare at me in confusion as i walked onwards without apology.
Yes, i am her lover, husband or ... thrall to be more appropriate.
As if invading my memories, dashing my dreams away, seperating me from those i cared about and sending me to another world wasn't enough - she had the added audacity to make me her concubine.
I kept my self in check, trying to bury down the purple energy that rippled around my frame; dancing around ominously as my anger rose to a dangerous degree.
None of them could sense or perceive energy, with the inhabitants simply continuing their affairs, blissfully unaware that a simple lapse in my control could splatter them to puddles of blood, ending their lives.
Despite my anger, i had no desire to wreak havoc and mutilation on the innocents of this new world, i still wasn't sure if they were really humans or not and didn't desire to find out through a blood bath.
My anger was for one sole target only - the witch herself.
I eventually arrived at our apartment, staring at the glowing yellow emitting from the curtains to illuminate the dark road, still glistering with remnants of the drizzle earlier.
