Song Recommendation : Can Friends Kiss? : Camila Cabello.
Dahlia was still swaying to the beat, her body completely absorbed in the music when Can Friends Kiss by Camila Cabello began to play, the rhythm intensifying on the dance floor. She closed her eyes , letting the music flow through her as if she was in her own world. But just then , she felt familiar arms wrap tightly around her waist, pulling her out of her trance. A warm, minty breath brushed her ear and she instantly knew who it was.
"Flower... can we talk ?" Paige's voice was soft, filled with a desperation that made Dahlia's heart fill with hurt.
Dahlia's heart twisted with a mix of hurt and longing and she forced herself to keep her voice steady. " There's nothing to talk about, Paige."
She tried to pry Paige's hands off her , but Paige's grip only tightened, holding her close. " I won't let you go until we sort this problem out, I can't afford to lose you." Paige insisted, her voice a filled with a mixture of plea and desperation.
The chorus of Can Friends Kiss hit, and Dahlia's lips twisted into a smirk as an idea struck her. She began to sway her hips, grinding against Paige in time with the beat, making Paige let out a soft, needy sound at the back of her throat. Dahlia felt a rush of satisfaction - if Paige wanted to hold her close, then she'd give a reason to feel the intensity of what she'd lost.
But Paige, unfazed , wrapped her arms around Dahlia even tighter , pulling her back against her chest. She leaned into Dahlia's ear , her voice a low growl. "Don't start something you can't finish flower, unless you're willing to play with fire and get burned in it."
The words sent shivers down Dahlia's spine , but before she could respond, Paige's grip moved to her hips, pulling her in closer. They moved together, bodies pressed tight as they danced to the rhythm, every beat intensifying the tension between them.
Finally, Paige spun Dahlia around, and they faced eachother , their eyes locked. Dahlia's heart hammered in her chest, her emotions are wild , confusing with a mix of anger and frustration, and an undeniable attraction towards Paige. Her arms wrapped instinctively around Paige's neck as they swayed together, faces close enough to share eachothers breathes.
A silence fell between them heavy and charged, until Paige broke it, her voice soft but firm. " I didn't kiss Leona, flower. She cornered me outside the bathroom after I came out of it, and pushed me against a nearby wall. Before I could react , she...she kissed me. But I didn't kiss her back, I swear. I pushed her away and wiped my mouth. Please, believe me."
Dahlia searched Paige's eyes, finding an honesty there that chipped away the anger she held onto. Paige's expression was raw, vulnerable , a look Dahlia hadn't seen before.
But Dahlia shook her head, steeling herself . "Paige you don't owe me an explanation. She started to say, "We're just -"
"Say friends. I dare you." Paige interrupted , her eyes blazing. "Because to me, we are so much more than friends , and you know it. Don't you feel the tension between us? It's been there since the moment we met, flower . We were never just friends , and you feel it too."
Paige's words hung in the air, the weight of her confession feeling the space between them. Dahlia's heart raced, the music fading to the background as her gaze dropped to Paige's lips. She didn't know who moved first, but in that charged suspended moment , all she wanted was to close the distance between them.
Without another thought, Dahlia closed her eyes and let her lips crash into Paige's, their kiss soft at first, then deepening into something passionate, rough and overwhelming. It was a kiss that spoke the words they hadn't dared to say, a release of emotions that they'd been both holding back for so long.
Paige pulled back from their kiss, looking for any signs of regret on Dahlia's face. Dahlia seeing Paige's vulnerability and knowing what Paige was thinking about, she had gently cupped Paige's cheeks with both her hands and made Paige lock eyes with her.
Dahlia smiled and leaned her forehead against Paige's, and said in a soft but shaky voice, "I hate the fact that Leona kissed you, you weren't hers to kiss Paige, you were mine to kiss instead." Dahlia admitted with a sad smile a hint of tiredness in her voice.
Paige felt sadness in her heart and hugged Dahlia tightly on the dance floor, " Can we talk about our situation tomorrow superstar." Dahlia asked.
Paige agreed, They stayed in eachothers arms the whole party, talking about Halloween and Paige asking Dahlia if she was going to the Halloween party held ,but Dahlia sadly shook her head "no"and said that she had somethings to do that was important and personal. Paige nodded understanding, and they decided to call it a night because Dahlia had gotten tired.
The night was a emotional night for both Paige and Dahlia it drained both their energy. Before Dahlia could go she planted a soft peck on Paige's lips, "I'll see you tomorrow superstar, goodnight."
Paige nodded with a smile and after planting a kiss on Dahlia's forehead and wishing her goodnight. Paige watched Dahlia get into Carla's car has they drove off. Paige couldn't help but think, "What a weird night."
