Only nerds fall twice

part 1 (the introduction)

Y/N's pov

Gravity falls? I've never been, I say to my mother as I'm being asked to go with the twins.
Okay, so let me explain. My mother is a long-term friend of Mrs Pines. She asked me to go with the twins to Gravity Falls this year. I'm basically Dipper and Mabel's babysitter. Mabel blabbed out everything from the previous summer. So I was asked to go with and keep an eye on them.

Now I'm sitting on this bus, on my way to a town I've never heard of until well maybe six months ago. Gravity Falls, Oregon.
Dipper speaks of all these anomalies and strange things they saw there. Which sounds both scary and fun.

"Y/N, earth to Y/N," Mabel utters
"Yes, Mabel? Are you okay? " I ask."You've been silent this whole time, I was starting to get worried, " Mabel responds

The word she's looking for is nervous, I honestly dont know if i am okay. I've heard all about their grunkles, Stan and Ford. What if they don't like me or think I'm strange?

"Yeah, I'm absolutely great, Mabel, just a little lost in thought." I say to her
"Don't think too hard, Gravity Falls is great, and so is grunkle Stan and Ford." Mabel reassures me
Dipper butts in "Yeah and grunkle Ford is so smart, like crazy smart."

I can't seem to shake the feeling, though. I've heard so much about these old men, but yet I know nothing about them.
Waddles squeals as the bus stops abruptly.
The twins rush off the bus, and I see the two old men waiting for them. One is wearing a silly hat and suit, the other wearing a red turtle neck with a brown-beige coat.
I get off the bus before it rushes away

"Grunkle Stan, Grunkle Ford, I'd like you to meet Y/N. Our 'b̶a̶b̶y̶s̶i̶t̶t̶e̶r̶', Mabel told everything to mom and dad about last summer, so they sent Y/N with us... even though we aren't babies, we are teenagers. We consider her a friend." Dipper says, annoyed

STAN WALKS UP TO ME AND SHAKES MY HAND
"Nice to meet you toots I'm Stanley but you can call me Stan." The man in the suit says
"This is my brother poindexter. You can call him Ford, though,

I giggle at his implications of calling his brother boring, "Nice to meet you, Sir pines." I say with a small smirk."Please just call me Stan," he responds

"Ah, and you must be the famous Stanford Pines. I've heard so much about, " I say, staring at the man in the coat.
"You-You've heard about me? Is it bad stuff? Also, just call me Ford." He asks
"Oh, not at all, Ford. It's mainly just stories from Dipper and his deep admiration for you." I say with a smile on my face

I must say that for men pushing well into their 70s, they are extremely attractive, I don't think the twins realise what attractive grunkles they have.

Stanley Pines also known as Mister Mystery and Stanford Pines known as the genius with an extra finger. Oh, how I'll love it here.

"The twins parents actually notified us that you were coming with so we also prepared a room for you, haha." Stanley says
"Soos would you mind showing Y/N to her room?" I hear Stanford ask

"Follow me Y/N, You're gonna love it here!" Soos exclaims
He sure is excited to meet a stranger... I feel a little lost but I follow Soos, he guides me to a room stacked to the brim with books, the room has a couple bookcases and a large bed, is it a double or a queen? I'm not too sure. He leaves the room and I place my stuff down, The room is very dusty, it seems like an old study of sorts.
I sit down on the bed and let out a large sigh, "This is going to be a long summer." I mutter under my breath, as soon as I finished my sentence both sets of twins enter the room.

"So how are you finding the room?" Stan asks
"It's a little dusty" I say
Ford blushes "It's my old study, we haven't gotten to cleaning it yet."
"Oh, that's fine, I'm just glad to have gotten a room to myself I say with a smile."
"I really hope the bed is comfortable, I haven't used it in a hot sec, don't worry the bedding and sheets are new and clean." Ford says

"Oh, I don't mind,it seems really comfortable." I respond
*Waddles screams from the other room, causing Mabel to run out, and dipper following*
"We'll leave you to settle in." Stan says before him and Ford walk out.

I walk around the room, dragging my finger along the dusty bookcases, while looking at the titles.
"Ford has really good taste if these are all his books."
Titles like Gateway, Dreamsnake, Ringworld and The Unsleeping Eye catches my eye. These all are such good science fiction books. A little out dated but that doesn't change how great these books are.
I wonder how many of these Dipper has read. His nose is always in a book, nearly since birth.

I look at my phone the latest IPhone 6 plus. The time on the screen reads 6:42pm.
"I feel like I should go take a walk around town, get to know my surroundings, and clear my mind. After all the bus ride here was a bit rocky"

I get up and head out the door of the room, I tell the twins that I'm gonna go and take a walk around town
"Can we please come with you? We'd love to show you around." Dipper asks.
I politely decline, and tell him that I wanna clear my head

Besides, I spent hours on a bus with these two, I think I might need some alone time, I love these two but it would drive me insane.
