They all sat in the burrow kitchen... but it was not the same as it was before the war. The laughter and the happiness seemed to be drained from the room and no one dared to mention the elephant in the room. Fred Weasley, brother... son... twin... best friend... dead. Fred Weasley would never again prank or smile and no one again would hear his laugh once again. It was a painful moment... a painful forever for his loved ones.
Mrs. Weasley's sobs filled the silence and everyone else just wore long faces of sorrow. Harry Potter, the boy who lived twice held his girl friend Ginny, Fred's sister and was silently blaming himself for the death of everyone in the war. Remus, one of his father's best friends had also passed away that day. He and his wife both left their son in the land of the living, and this son was being nurtured in the arms of Ginny Weasley.
The baby let out a soft wail, calling for his mother and father. A tear slid down Harry's face as he looked at the face of his god son. Ginny's head rested against Harry's chest and she tried desperately to sooth the baby in her arms. His blue hair seemed duller then the ordinary color it was, but no one would really know that as no one had really met the baby before.
"Poor Teddy..." Ginny murmured softly as she brushed his hair away from his brown eyes. "God I miss them..." She cried, "I miss Fred and I miss Tonks and I miss Remus... I miss them all... none of them..." Harry shushed her and placed a soft kiss on the top of her head.
Hermione, a bushy haired girl with red streaks down her face from falling tears waked over to Ginny and took the baby from her arms. "I'll hold him for a bit..." She whispered as she walked over to her own boy friend, the third member of the trio Ronald Weasley. He put his arms around her and kissed her neck. He felt wrong to feel so happy, he had lost his brother but gotten the girl. What a sad reality.
A small sob escaped Hermione's lips and Ron pulled her closer to him, "It's all over." He whispered over and over again. It was a lie though, they all knew that they still had yet to deal with the after math. Voldemort had killed so many... so many had so much to deal with. This was only a group of the many who were dealing with the trauma of the events that had been going on since before some people were born.
Ginny looked at her boyfriend as he began to speak to his friends, "Ron... Hermione... can you watch Teddy for a bit... there is somewhere I want to take Ginny... I think it's time she met my parents." Ron and Hermione nodded in understanding as Ginny stood shocked as she looked at Harry. Without a second thought they apparated under the invisibility cloak, it was not because of a habit but because that he needed just a moment of peace with his girlfriend at his parents grave.
They reached the graves of Lily and James Potter the couple took a deep breath. Harry knelled down in front of the headstone and ran his hand over the name of each of his parents. "Hey mum... dad... I did it." He whispered under his breath, Ginny sat down next to him and rested her head on his shoulder. The couple sat there together in silence as they just looked at the grave.
Meanwhile back at the burrow Ron and Hermione sat together up in Ron's room together with the small baby Teddy Lupin in the arms together. Hermione gently played with his short blue hair. Ron leaned over and gently placed his lips on Hermione's. Each kiss they shared was just as wonderful as the last.
Hermione suddenly looked very seriously at Ron, he looked quite frightened. "Ron... do you think one day... we could have a baby?" She was quite serious about this, and Ron surprisingly enough to Hermione looked quite pleased that he was not freaking out.
"Yeah... a beautiful baby girl that looks just like you." Ron told her, "Right down the the gorgeous thick curly brown hair." Hermione giggled at his remark and kissed him passionately. Ron gasped in surprise, after a few moments of bliss they both starred at Teddy.
At that time a few floors down the now very lonely George sat in his childhood bedroom crying. He had lost his best friend. He had lost his brother. He had lost his twin. His world seemed to be falling apart around him and in anger he punched the war.
"Why did we have to separate!" He yelled up to the ceiling, but it was useless with the silencing charm he had placed around the room. "I wish it was me!" He cried, tears fiercely and shamelessly ran down his face. He sobbed into his hand and he looked up every now and then to look at the broken mirror that laid on his floor.
After what felt like hours Molly Weasley, his mother entered the room and took a shaky breath. Objects had been thrown across the room, there was a hole in the wall from where the young man had earlier punched it and she eyed the broken mirror at the ground.
"George... what did you do?" She whispered looking around the room, "Why did you break that mirror..." She then looked into his seemingly empty eyes. He had tears pouring from them at a constant rate and she walked over and wrapped her arms around her son.
He took a shaky breath... "I couldn't look into the mirror... without seeing him." George said shakily, she pulled him into one of her famous bone crushing hugs and kissed his head softly. "It just hurts so much..."
At the grave yard after endlessly talking Harry and Ginny stood up together and instead of apparating away from the village of Godricks Hollow they walked down the street. Ginny leaned over to Harry, "Where are we going?" She asked him softly, he sent her a warm look as they stopped in front of a large mansion. "Harry what is this place?"
Harry walked towards the gate and it opened with magic, Ginny wordlessly followed after Harry as they made their way up to the front of the large house. "Ginny... this is the Potter mansions... Sirius told me about it a few years ago... and since I am the last Potter... well its mine, and I would rather live here then Grimmauld Place..."
Ginny kissed him and lead him into the old house that hadn't been lived in in years. There was dust and cobwebs all over but the aged beauty still shown throughout the house. "Ginny... I took you here because I wanted to ask you... would you want to help me fix this place up... and when the time comes... move in with me?"
Ginny's face was filled with shock and jumped on top of Harry kissing him. "Yes!" She squealed happily, and with that the couple got to work cleaning the place with magic. There was not any dark magic here but there were some creatures that were quite unpleasant and quite a reminder about how they had cleaned up headquarters. The house of Sirius's god father.
They spent hours cleaning before they returned to the burrow where they sat for several more hours with Harry's godson. "You are so loved Teddy... your mummy loved you... your daddy loved you... I love you, Ginny loves you... you have a whole bunch of people in this world who will stand before you and protect you no matter what Ted. You may not understand this right now but one day you will... and until the day you stop needing me I will be here for you."
After Harry had spoken his soft speech to his godson he laid him down in the crib and rocked him slowly to sleep.
