The sun dipped low on the horizon, casting an orange hue across the waves that seemed to dance in excitement. Louie stood at the bow of their ship , heart racing with anticipation as he clutched the weathered flyer that had mysteriously appeared just hours earlier. A cheerful, rainbow-hued image of a carnival painted the paper, but the words "Twisted Carnival" danced ominously beneath it. "Come one, come all! Experience wonders and horrors beyond your imagination!" they promised.

"What do you think?" Louie asked, turning to his friends with a broad grin painted on his face. "It sounds like a blast!"

Ethan leaned against the mast, arms crossed and brow furrowed. "A blast? More like a trap. You saw what happened at the last 'carnival' we went to. It turned out to be a front for pirates!"

"But this is different!" Louie countered, waving the flyer animatedly. "What if it's an adventure? What if there are games or treasures? We could win incredible prizes!"

Levi, seated on the deck polishing his dagger, glanced up. "Adventurous, sure. But also dangerous. You should know by now that not everything is as it seems." His ebony eyes glinted darkly in the fading light, a stark reflection of the Yami Yami no Mi's powers swirling within him.

James—his wild hair tousled, a mix of sweets and determination in his expression—sat cross-legged nearby and finally chimed in. "I'm with Levi on this one. Twisted has a pretty negative connotation. If we go, we should be prepared for anything. Besides, what's wrong with a little caution?"

Louie's enthusiasm dimmed slightly, but the fiery spark of curiosity ignited again. "But imagine the stories we could tell! Think of the strange things we might see! Please, let's check it out. If it's bad, we can leave."

The three exchanged wary glances. The shimmering ocean was quiet, providing an unexpected air of solemnity to their discussion. Each boy felt differently, yet all three were united in their loyalty to their friend.

"Alright," Ethan relented, pushing off from the mast with an exasperated sigh. "We'll go, but we stick together, and we leave at the first sign of trouble."

"Deal!" Louie's voice rang out with unmaintainable excitement as he secured the flyer to the mast. "Set course for the twisted carnival!"

With the sails unfurled and the wind at their backs, the four boys set their sights on the distant island where the carnival promised to unfold. The sun sank fully below the horizon, painting their world in tones of blue and purple, as whispers of the night crept in. An eerie thrill danced along Louie's spine; he could hardly contain himself.

Days passed as they sailed, filled with a bubbling anticipation. On the afternoon of the fifth day, the towering silhouette of the island rose before them, its jagged cliffs draped in shadow. Lanterns lit up the shore, forming an inviting path to the carnival grounds. The laughter and echoes of carnival music drifted through the air, wrapping around them like a spell.

As they stepped onto the sandy beach, the atmosphere shifted. What had at first seemed joyful morphed into something unsettling. The vibrant colors of the tents seemed too bright, almost blinding in their cheerfulness, while the laughter echoed with an odd undertone that sent shivers down each boy's spine.

They ventured deeper into the carnival, the warm glow of lights illuminating the bizarre attractions: a Ferris wheel made of bones, a maze filled with mirrors that whispered secrets, and acrobats who twisted in ways entirely unnatural. Louie led the way, drawn by a magnetic force, while Ethan, Levi, and James hung back, exchanging wary looks.

Suddenly, a figure emerged from behind the tent with startling agility. She wore a mask resembling a grinning skull, and her voice was velvety smooth. "Welcome, my dear guests, to the Twisted Carnival! I am Yum Yum Bedlam, your host for the evening. Care for a game? Or perhaps a dare?"
