a summer on the line

It was the kind of small town where everyone knew your name even before you set foot there. Small, quiet, the kind of place where summer felt endless, and the pool and local park were the heart of it all. Kids would spend their days at the sandlot-sunburnt and scraped up or at the pool.

For me, moving here wasn't part of the plan. New school, new faces, new everything. I disliked it all ...but nothing could've prepared me for meeting 'that' group of kids and bonding with one of them in a way that would change everything.

Little did i know, that summer would be more than just baseball and lazy afternoons-it would be the summer of risks, secrets, and one giant, slobbering dog standing between them and disaster.

And all because of one lousy baseball.
