"I panted as I ran through the sprawling complex. The sounds of my footsteps echoing loudly throughout the hall. It felt like I'd been running for hours. My legs ached, my lungs burned, my head was spinning, but I know that if I stop running, I will die here, in this hospital. I cannot afford that, I have to tell my story, I have to live! I have to tell the world of the twisted cruelty forced onto the people that were trapped in this sanatorium! For their sake and mine, I will escape Ward 42!"
So yeah. That was a really short little tidbit of an upcoming story called "Ward 42". And there's a little IRL lore I've gotta dump on you really fast.
As some of you may know, Silent Laughter was originally XxSilverShroudxX 's story. They'd written it on paper back when we were in middle school math class, some years passed and I was digging through a box of old stuff, and I found the "manuscript" for Silent Laughter and asked if I could retell the story. The answer was yes. Now when we were kids we always wrote stories together and usually had them interconnected, and these two were no different, Ward 42 was my answer to Shroud's Silent Laughter. And well I've decided to revitalize the universe by retelling and finishing Ward 42 (I never finished it cuz middle school finished and they moved away 😭)
Ward 42 and Silent Laughter take place in the same universe, but in different timeframes, Silent Laughter was set in the 2010's whereas Ward 42 takes place in the late '90s early 2000's era.
And if I enjoy rewriting Ward 42 I might add on to the universe? Might even give it a proper universe name? I'm not sure, we will have to see. Anyway, Ward 42 will be coming soon, until then
