“HOW TO LOSE POINTS FOR YOUR HOUSE: A GUIDE”——CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS HAD COME TO AN END, AND EXAMS WERE COMING NEARER AND NEARER. Which was why Greyson was sitting at the Gryffindor table with Harry, Ron and Hermione, studying for the upcoming exams. Clementine, who had arrived the day before was sitting beside him, looking like she would doze off at any moment.
"Look at you, playing with your cards. Pathetic." Hermione glared at Ron, who was shuffling a bunch of cards he had collected from eating the Chocolate Frogs. "We've got final exams coming up soon, you know?"
Harry and Greyson shared an amused look.
"I'm ready. Ask me any question." Ron placed his cards down on the table, raising his eyebrows expectantly.
"Alright," Hermione glanced down at her textbook. "What are the three most crucial ingredients in a Forgetfulness Potion?"
Greyson turned to Ron, who turned as red as his hair, "I forgot."
"And what, may I ask, do you plan to do if this comes up in the final exam?"
"Copy off you?" Ron tried.
"No, you won't." Hermione narrowed her eyes like she always did whenever she was irritated. "Besides, according to Professor McGonagall, we're to be given special quills Bewitched with an anti-cheating spell."
"That's insulting!" Ron looked offended. "It's as if they don't trust us." He checks a card he had picked up from the deck, "Ugh, Dumbledore again!"
At that moment, Neville hobbled into the Great Hall, how he managed to hop around was anyone's guess because his legs had been stuck together with what they recognised at once as the Leg-Locker Curse. He must have had to bunny hop all the way to the Great Hall, judging by his flustered expression.
Everyone fell over laughing except Hermione, who leapt up and performed the countercurse. Neville's legs sprang apart and he got to his feet, trembling.
"What happened?" Clementine frowned, her textbook opened in front of her, though she wasn't actually studying anything. She patted the empty seat beside her and Neville took a seat.
"Malfoy." Neville said shakily. "I met him outside the library. He said he'd been looking for someone to practice that on."
"Go to Professor McGonagall!" Hermione urged, "Report him!"
Neville shook his head. "I don't want more trouble."
"You've got to stand up to him, Neville!" Ron said. "He's used to walking all over people, but that's not a reason to lie down in front of him and make it easier."
