A deafening scream fills the room and I realize that it had come from my own mouth. It was a nighmare. Panic strikes me as I scan the area for Diallo but just because I woke up from a nightmare doesn't mean that I escaped the one I'm living in.

Restraints are no longer bounding me to the table. What kind of game are they playing? My eyes grow wide and I gag when I see what is laying on the floor. Or...who, with blood staining the white tile floors.

I run to the door avoiding the crimson red puddle and realize the door is locked. Banging on the door I sob and cry for help.

"Please!" I beg, hair sticking to my face, "Please..." I sink down to the ground head cradled between my knees. A laugh echoes through the speakers, bouncing off of the walls. It starts quiet...but soon invades my ears with a loud, booming laughter that no one could possibly ignore.

"LEAVE ME ALONE!" I scream, but he had another plan in mind. I crawl over to Diallo and brush my fingers lightly through his hair.

"I'm his father."

"You killed him!" I put my head on his chest and sob, frantically searching for a heart beat. I'm...unable to find one, "Diallo," I sob weakly, "Diallo."

I'm roughly shooken awake. It...it was just a nightmare

...just a nightmare, "Where is Diallo?!" I yell, "Where is he?!"

"He's fine...for now," his face reads disgust, "Diallo...did find you. Hm. He didn't tell me."

"Don't hurt him," I beg. The door opens and the guards shove Diallo to the floor in front of me. I try to go to him but I am still restrained. He is covered in cuts and bruises, blood dripping from his lip.

"Please, don't hurt him anymore," I cry.

"Ariana?" He frantically looks up. He struggles to stand but the guards knock him to the floor once again, making him weaker. We gaze at each other until the older man breaks the deafening silence.

"Diallo, my son!"

"I hate you," Diallo struggles to state, breaking our stare.

"Say it again and your girlfriend will get hurt. That's a guarantee. I don't like your tone"

My eyes turn into slits and I break the restraints and strike the guards with electricity along with his father. The guards stupidly left the door unlocked so Diallo and I limp off with no where to go. "Get on my back."

"What?"

"Now." He does so and I sprint down the hallway, "Where are we?"

"I think my dads lab...I've never really been here before.

"We have to get out of here." I scan the room we're in. It has five doors and the room itself is absolutely blinding with white and the scent of lemon and bleach. One door has light under it...It could be daylight! "How about this one!"

"I don't think so," he whispers, "It's like 9 o'clock at night."

"How about this one?" He points to another door close by this one. I hesitantly nod and grip the door handle, opening it quietly. I peer through the crack and see a boy our age, blondey. He spots us with wide brown eyes and whispers for help. The door swings open and I run to the table he is strapped on.

"Ari, no!" Diallo whisper shouts.

"Shut up, Diallo. He needs our help," I snap. He rolls his eyes and runs in after me, helping him, "Are you okay? Can you walk?" I ask in panic.

"Shh," Diallo glares, "They're going to find us!"

"I know the way out." The boy smiles. He leads us to a door that says "Exit"...

"Wow...Who would have known." I roll my eyes, "We open the door and run across the corn field only yards away.

"There they are!" I guard screams, pointing a tranquilizer at us. I run faster than Diallo and the other kid by a lot.

Once we enter a forest, I motion for them to climb a tree before the guard catches us. Diallo climbs up easily but I have to help the guy. As soon as we get comfortable the guard runs past us.

"We're going to be here a while..." I say, flatly, "So, I never got your name.

"I'm Logan. And I'm guessing your...Ariana? The weird old guy with the stupid coat took me from my home and said I was "special" or something."

"Sounds like a perv to me," I grin, "So...you have like...powers, right?"

"He shrugs and shakes his head, "Apparently."

"He said the same to me."

"Why is he here?" Logan questions.

"Unfortunately, I'm his son." Diallo states, annoyed.

"Ouch... He told me about you Ariana. He said we have tons of powers and that he's going to put us through a series of tests because he wants our "abilities". Have you found out any of yours or is this old guy just crazy?"

"Well," I sigh, "He is crazy but I can shoot electricity through my fingertips."

"Cool." Logan stares at me. He...just keeps staring at me...awkward...

"Are you...okay?" He then falls out of the tree stiffened. I bright orange dart was in his shoulder. Before I can look for the guard, one strikes me in the lower back. Diallo dodges the next one our way. He grabs me but my weights fails me once again and I slip out of his grasp. For hopefully the last time, I am paralyzed but thankfully a guard catches me before I hit the ground.

In the corner of my eye I can see Diallo dodge the next few darts.

"Diallo, you know we don't need you," his father yells, "I could just kill you."

"And a great father you would be," he replies sarcastically, "You know," he resumes, "I've never known what a good father felt like." I see a flash of hurt in his dad's eyes but his cold, soulless self comes back just as quick. Diallo saw this and took advantage.

"Shut up, your just a kid. I own you!"

"I sure am but I'm a kid who only had one parent who loved me and it sure as hashbrown wasn't you. Unlike you, mom loved me. She actually took care of the kid she owned. She didn't take me with her because she was scared of you!" He dodges the next dart.

"Don't talk to me about your mother!"

"Is that why you wanted to take Ariana's mom? Because you couldn't get a wife on your own?  Well, that didn't work, did it? You don't care about anyone.

"I'll kill Ariana and you."

"It only proves that you don't have a heart," he says before a dart from behind hits him in the neck, paralyzing him.

"You know I have more power than you, boy. Don't make me use it."
