Would they not?
{ 'I' is Minho }
I scoffed a laugh, "You won't ever catch me, let alone catch sight of me."
I could hear Changbin's rough breathing round a corner and I made sure to keep my footsteps feathery light as I raced towards the forest.
I heard Changbin yell as he rounded the corner but I was fast. He'd never catch me.
"MINHO! Come back!"
I smirked as I ducked into the expanse of trees and navigated easily. Changbin's footsteps were significantly heavier and he was less experienced with forest navigation.
"Minho, don't do this! Come back to the town!"
I ignore Changbin. He's my enemy and when does anyone trust the opposition?
I ducked past shrubbery, thick trees and branches that hung low. Through the howling wind and lively forest, I heard Changbin's footfalls nearing. I silently cursed.
Finally I burst out of the forest to be met with a dead night.
The forest behind me was long forgotten.
In fact, it felt like time had stopped.
For just me.
My heart squeezed, the force like a hand with a vice grip over it, crushing my life force.
And, was the world spinning?
My knees thudded on the grass, my gaze locked on the night sky before me.
My mouth was as dry as sandpaper in that moment as my breathing slowly became laboured.
"Minho! You- oh god! Minho!"
I heard distant screaming. Who the hell was that?
My body shook but the only thing my mind was processing was the night sky and that intense petrification I'd long forgotten about.
"Minho, you stupid- fuck."
I blinked hard, my chest aching. And I...trembled. It was a feeling I was unfamiliar with.
Fear.
I thought I had locked away that abomination. Apparently not. It was knocking on my door once again.
I felt cold hands wipe away my sweaty forehead and I slowly turned to the person.
My reality was once again thrown into chaos. Damn, this blender called life just can't stop throwing random shit right in my face.
Changbin, the last person I wanted to see right now, was cradling me?
A year later
I call out, "Come help me with the dishes!"
Changbin stepped into the kitchen shyly, "Yes?"
I handed him some plates for him to wash. For a few minutes, it was pretty silent. Then, I unloaded the question on my mind.
"Why? A year ago...why? Why save me?"
"They'd dance on your grave. But as the hero, I'd prefer to save. Everyone needs a saviour every now and then, even the villains."
