synopsis
The world is hollowing out, collapsing into its own darkness. I can see it, feel it, like the sickness has infected the earth itself, twisting it beyond recognition. Through the eyes of the abyss, every place we once knew is diseased - cities overrun, forests haunted, even our own minds lie in wait to betray us.
And me? I'm trapped here with a bunch of teenagers who are no more heroes than I am. We were just unlucky enough to end up on the same prison bus. Each of us carries our own scars, some you can't even see, some so deep they've carved us hollow. We're rejects, delinquents, each of us haunted by our own demons, and somehow that's what's keeping us alive, clinging to the shreds of a world that wants us dead.
We didn't choose each other; we can barely stand each other most days. But when monsters claw at every edge of existence, and every shadow threatens to swallow us whole, there's no room for ego. In this abyss, sticking together is the only thing keeping us from falling through.
The world feels emptied of warmth, like every last flicker has been snuffed out. But I can't afford to linger on that thought. Not here, not now. Because in the abyss, only one truth remains: survive, or be devoured.
