Monday

"Good morning." Y/N's voice was soft as she tried to get Jeffrey's attention, noticing him sitting at his desk with his head down, lost in his own world. She'd always cared deeply for those who were mistreated or misunderstood. It made her want to reach out, to offer a bit of kindness—even if he never quite looked at her when she did.

Jeff kept his head down, not acknowledging her greeting. Just then, Randy walked in with his usual smirk.

"Hey, Jeff, being emo again?" Randy sneered, smacking Jeff on the back of the head so hard that his face slammed into the desk. Blood trickled from Jeff's nose, but he stayed silent, his fists clenched tight. Y/N watched helplessly from across the room, her heart pounding but too afraid of Randy to step in.

As soon as class ended, she hurried over, eyes full of worry. "Are you okay...?"

Jeff lifted his bloody face from the desk, barely meeting her gaze. "Mhm," he mumbled, voice low. Before she could react, he stood up. She rushed to grab tissues, but by the time she returned, he was already gone.

for the next few days, he skipped school.

Friday

"Y/N, I know you care about Jeffrey, but I'm worried Randy's going to make you his next target..." Sera spoke softly, her eyes filled with concern. Sera had been Y/N's best friend since second grade and knew how much Y/N wanted to help people like Jeff.

Before Y/N could respond, Troy interrupted their conversation with a smirk. "Hey, you whores. I'm hosting a party tonight, and you're both invited." He laughed, though his eyes held a challenging glare.

Sera sighed. "I guess we'd better go..."

at the party

As soon as Y/N and Sera arrived, they were greeted by flashing police lights and an ambulance parked outside Troy's house.

"FUCK OFF ME!" Randy screamed as two cops dragged him toward their car. He struggled against the handcuffs, his face twisted in fury, but the officers held firm as they pushed him into the back seat.

As that was happening, Y/N's eyes were drawn to a stretcher being wheeled toward the ambulance. The body lying on it looked so much like Jeffrey.

Later that week, it was confirmed—the body was Jeffrey's, unconscious and battered. Randy had tried to kill him that night.

After that, no one heard from Jeffrey. Days passed in uneasy silence until his face appeared on the news...

***BREAKING NEWS***

"Over twenty bodies have been discovered at a local residence, all brutally murdered. Authorities have identified the suspect as Jeffrey Woods, known by the name 'Jeff the Killer.' The suspect is a 13-year-old male, standing 5'6", with pale skin, scars forming a 'smile' across both sides of his mouth, and missing eyelids. The community is urged to remain vigilant as the search for Jeffrey Woods continues..."

As Y/N watched the news, her hand went numb, and her cell phone slipped from her grasp, hitting the floor with a dull thud.

"Y/N? Are you there?" Sera's voice sounded muffled through the speaker, concern seeping through.

But Y/N couldn't respond. Her chest felt tight, her mind reeling from the horrific revelation. She sank to the floor, tears streaming down her face as she clutched the phone, listening to Sera's worried voice through her sobs. The rest of the night passed in fragments, her and Sera connected only by quiet words and shared heartbreak.
