In the heart of Baghdad, beneath the shimmering veil of a twilight sky, the annual fair thrummed with life, its vibrant colors dancing in the warm breeze. Among the throngs of laughter and song, Layla, a humble orphan, navigated the bustling marketplace with a spirit unyielding and eyes unclouded by the desire for power or politics. To her, the kingdom's intrigues were as distant as the stars above, far removed from her simple dreams of bread and beauty.

But fate has a way of intertwining paths in the most unexpected of ways. When her gaze met that of Faisal bin Khalid Al Maliki, the Crown Prince, in a fleeting moment amidst the revelry, the world around them faded into a blur. He, a man draped in the weight of expectations and shadows of his lineage, felt an unfamiliar stirring within-a fierce interest ignited by her fearless spirit.

"Like a candle in the night," he thought, "she burns with a light I cannot resist."

Layla, not aware of the royal presence, met his intense scrutiny with a boldness that both surprised and captivated him. In that instant, as she confronted him with a defiance that echoed through the air like a sonnet of old, would be Khalifa was compelled to apologize-a gesture that sent ripples through the court and whispered promises of an uncharted future.

But what he mistook for the conclusion of their encounter was merely the prologue to an obsession that would bind them in ways neither could foresee. Layla, the forbidden jewel of the kingdom, unaware of the storm brewing within the heart of the prince, continued her life with grace and resilience, navigating the challenges of her world as her destiny entwined with his.

As the moon waxed and waned,
so too did the tides of fate draw them closer, a slow burn of desire and danger.

For in the shadows of power,
beneath the gilded facade of royalty,
a tempest brewed-a passion that would challenge the very foundations of their lives, echoing the verses of ancient poets who spoke of love and longing amid the sands of time.

Some notable points:

• As mentioned above, this book will have Arabian and Persian characters, the story is kinda inspired by Abbasid Caliphate but there is no mention of a particular timeline, you can imagine it in any particular century you want.

• As after the downfall of Umayyad Caliphate when Abbasid Caliphate started and ended with the invasion of Mongols, all those happened from mid 7th century to 12th century (: which is obviously a lot back in the history and I do not have the best knowledge of the facts.

• Therefore, it'll have a touch of mine as human mind is an endless fantasy, most of the things would be based on my imagination such as fashion, food etc there would no mention of Abbasid Caliphate rules but there are some of their severe restrictions, such as prohibition of womens from politics etc and there will mention of slave system as it was a major part of the dynasty and that era.

• Do not become furious at the mention of such topics in the book or the treatment slaves had face. The book might have patriarchy and ml would be an ass like imagine he is literally grown up in such a environment so do not expect him to be an exact opposite of what is happening around him or expecting some feminism from him (:

• Even though I'm muslim, the characters are muslim but they do not represent Islam. Fl does pray 5 times, cover herself but but but she is against the standards set up by men's that profits them only.

Yk like majority of the tradition is in the favour of the mens.

• English is not my first language, so there might be any mistakes or grammatical errors.

• lastly, the story is fictional and similarities with anything/anyone in real life would be pure coincidence. All the photos belong to the rightful owners, I don't claim them as mine, the cover is edited by me but the image is taken from Pinterest. I do not own the real image.

I would not appreciate any plagiarism, apart from the things mentioned above I own the entire rights of this story or any of my other stories.
