He's the kid that gets good grades, the kid that never gets into any type of trouble, that gets picked on his classmates about twenty times each day during the seven miserable hours of school. They call him many names, especially the nickname, "goodie-two-shoes", he doesn't mind any names that they may call him, it's not like he really cares what they think of him. He'll just ignore until they eventually go away. He only goes by one name though, a simple one at that; Tom, short for Thomas Delonge.

Tom only had five friends out of his whole high school building, he met four of them in middle school on his first day, but the last one he met when he was in kindergarten, which is his best friend, Travis Barker. Travis is a troubled kid, but one of the sweetest people Tom has ever met, even though Travis caused him all sort of bad things to happen out through the years as they have been best friends. Like the one time they were both seven years old, and Travis talked Tom into climbing Tom's very mean neighbor at the time's fence. Tom repeatedly told him he wasn't going to do it, but after Travis kept bugging, he finally gave in. Once Tom got half way up the very tall fence, the cops showed up simply because the neighbor called them, that was Tom's first car ride in the back of a police car back to his home, also his first grounding more than two months from his parents.

Each time Travis does these things, Tom often wonders why he kept the troubled-some boy in his life for this long, but when he thinks of all the times that Travis was there during the very upsetting times in his life like when Tom's dog died, or when Tom got bullied in elementary for wanting to talk nonstop about UFOs, and punk bands. He thinks of all the caring, warm hugs he often got when he really needed them, how Travis tells a joke to get Tom to smile again. He understands exactly why.

The other four friends Tom has, he met in seventh grade, on his first day at the new school with more people than the elementary he went to. How he met each one is interesting stories, sometimes they like to talk about it even now when they're in twelve grade, just going through the awkward, but sweet memories.

In seventh grade, Tom had developed very bad acne, causing him to be a already target for other kids. Maybe he shouldn't of asked an eighth grader for help to find his first class, but he did anyways, not knowing that the older boy would lead him to the bathroom. Tom gave the older boy a confused look, but got yanked into the stall to get his first ever swirly.

Once the bully let go of him, and starts to laugh while walking away, in that moment Tom really wishes Travis didn't plan to skip three days of school, because he really needed him to kick some ass for him. Tom isn't the strongest, but Travis sure is. After Tom got all dried up with the brown paper towels that felt like razor blades each time he wiped his face, he started to hear a sudden terrified begging outside the bathroom door. He thought about checking it out, until the door busts wide open to show the eighth grader that gave Tom that disgusting swirly, with a kid struggling to get out of the strong hold he was put into.

The kid looked about Tom's age, eleven or twelve. He had light blond hair that touches his shoulders slightly, thin upper lip with a bigger bottom lip. He's very short, probably one of the smallest people Tom has ever saw. He wears a grey beanie with a flap to the side, black shirt with a small white X in the middle, and blue baggy jeans. His bluish green eyes are covered in fear.

"Let me go!" He begs still trying to get loose.

The older kid just chuckles, dragging him closer to the stall that has someone's shit inside. This is the moment where Tom would never image himself doing is his next actions; He's actually going to stand up for someone. Tom throws away the brown paper towel, and makes his way to the older boy, and yanks his shoulder, turning him around making the shorter kid fall onto the toilet seat, staring up at them.
