the dismissal bell rang, freeing students from the anticipation and boredom that was accumulated from the six hour prison they were trapped in. while everyone dashed out the door to go home, jungwon hurried to find sunghoon.
sunoo had been absent the whole day, and jungwon didn't get a chance to ask anyone during lunch, since sunghoon and jake had a club meeting, and ni-ki was at another dance competition.
"sunghoon hyung!" jungwon called, trying to squeeze through the crowd of students as quickly as he could.
"oh hey jungwon, what's up?" sunghoon said nonchalantly to the younger male who was slightly out of breath.
"why wasn't sunoo here today?" jungwon asked as sunghoon finished loading his binders from his locker to his backpack.
"he caught a cold, nothing serious." sunghoon answered, the two of them starting to walk to the exit. "he should be back in a day or two"
"oh i see. tell him to get well soon and that it sucks when he's not here" jungwon said. "actually, i'll tell him myself"
"you're coming over?"
"if it's okay with you guys, then yeah"
"i'm sure my parents would love it, they've been asking about you since you two met! and sunoo, well obviously he wants to see you."
"that's great! i'll be there once i drop my things off at home"
"alright, see you in a bit then"

jungwon walked around the neighbourhood feeling somewhat nervous, scanning the premises for sunoo's house. In his hand held a water bottle filled with ginger tea that his mom always made for him when he was sick.
after searching for what felt like forever, he finally spotted sunoo's house. as he carefully walked up the driveway, the front door opened before he was even within a two metre radius.
"Jungwon-ah! welcome in!" sunoo's dad exclaimed, waving his hand to signal him to come in.
"nice to meet you!" jungwon said as he bowed both awkwardly and politely at the same time.
"it's so thoughtful of you to visit sunoo, you're such a great kid!" mr. kim warmly smiled.
"uh– thanks!" jungwon said, not used to the friendliness.
luckily, sunghoon appeared, saving jungwon from the uncomfortable interaction.
"jungwon, you're here!" sunghoon exclaimed, bringing the boy inside. "sunoo's waiting for you, i already told him. and dad, i think you're freaking him out a little."
"n-no, it's okay" jungwon quickly denied before getting dragged away by the older male.
"sorry about my parents, they're a little too ecstatic from the fact that sunoo has a friend." sunghoon quietly apologised as the two walked up the stairs.
"it's fine, i'm just a little not used to their kindness, that's all" jungwon said.
"mhm, anyways we're here." sunghoon said, gesturing towards the closed bedroom door in front of them. "i'll leave you two to it."
jungwon thanked him before gently knocking on the door in front of him. it was almost immediately opened by sunoo, who was layered in a winter coat and looked rather pale, despite having naturally fair skin.
"jungwon, i'm so gald you're here!" sunoo exclaimed, still his usual cheerful self.
"well i certainly missed you a lot!" jungwon replied, equally as happy. "i brought you some tea, it helps clear up colds quicker"
"aw thanks, you didn't have to do that" sunoo said with gratitude.
"i just want to see you again soon!" jungwon explained. "and it would feel better knowing that my best friend wasn't sick"
"hm you love me so much~" sunoo teased.
"shut up, you wish!" jungwon giggled.
the two of them sat on sunoo's bed, watching a kdrama and gossiping about practically everything. the evening sunlight slightly illuminated the room, casting a warm glow over the two friends.
a while later, their happiness was interrupted by the ringing of jungwon's phone.
"who is it?" sunoo asked, leaning his head closer towards the other boy's direction.
"it's jake. hold on, i should answer." jungwon replied.
a minute or so passed, and jungwon finished the call.
"i think i might needa go, it's getting pretty late." he frowned, placing his phone down. "and jake said he didn't wanna deal with family dinner alone, so..."
"oh ok, no problem. thanks for coming over, it was really fun." sunoo smiled.
"so, i'll see you tomorrow?" jungwon said, hopeful.
"with your help today, yeah!" sunoo exclaimed.
"great!" jungwon grinned, standing up and making his way out the door. "see you soon!"
"that's right, bye won!" sunoo responded
