Chapter 16

Anyway, I hope you liked that last chapter. I cut it a bit short, but hey. I need something to write about for this one, right? xD

Btw, I am so sorry if I offend any volleyball players ((-cough- Whyareall -cough-)). >.< I seriously cannot describe sports. Maybe karate. But that's it. Orrr... Soccer, if I really tried.

Main thing is, I'm not a good sports spectator ._.

Everyone but you was doing something. Well, you guessed you weren't necessarily doing NOTHING. It was just that... What you were doing was a lot less productive than what everyone else was. You were just wallowing in misery under your little palm tree; sipping on your drink.

The boys had decided to play volleyball, and Yuffie wanted in, so the matches ended up being boys vs. girls. You were watching as they coordinated the teams, and decided that you wanted to participate, too.

Heck, if you were gonna hit anything, it might as well be a volleyball, right? You still hadn't drained all the adrenaline from your veins after your catfight with Kairi.

Your team consisted of you and Yuffie, and since there were a lot more girls than boys your opponents were Kairi and her little brown-haired minion. You were quite happy that they were your opponents, as that gave you an opportunity to hurt them. A hard spike to Kairi's face and maybe another one to break the minion's wrist wouldn't hurt anyone, right?

Oh, right. It would hurt them.

"We have a lot of matches to go through, so the team that leads by six points wins, or the first one to reach fifteen total," Gippal explained.

"A'ight." You cracked your knuckes and walked with Yuffie to your team's side of the net, glaring at Kairi and smirking. You were pissed and therefore not a force to be reckoned with.

Yuffie explained that she was going to let you do most of the work, and you were totally fine with that. You were planning on only giving her the ball when absolutely necessary; you also trusted that she would be good backup.

Zack blew the whistle and threw the volleyball to your side, and immediately Yuffie, who was closer to the ball, set it so that you could spike it. You hit the ball hard and, as expected, beamed Kairi in the face as she tried to run and get it.

"Ooh, sorry. Better than ruining your little manicure, though, isn't it?" You teased, brushing your hands on your shirt.

"Rhapsodos.." she hissed through gritted teeth. "I'm going to murder you."

"Them's fightin' words," Yuffie spat, going up to the net and putting her fingers through the holes. She glared at Kairi, who looked like she was about to do the same, but smiled when she got an uncertain look on her face, scowled, then turned away.

You returned to your position, ball in hand, and got ready to serve. Whether you were going to serve overhand or underhand, you weren't sure.

You decided to go with overhand, and watched as the ball sailed over the net. Kairi set it over, just barely -it touched the tape- and you let Yuffie bump it back. Kairi's minion, you decided to name her Buffy, for no reason at all, really, got in Kairi's way and tried to volley it instead of letting Kairi bump it. The ball rolled off her fingers and Kairi, who was stunned, stuck out an arm and hit the ball out of the "court".

The game went on and you never let Kairi and Buffy score any points, allowing you to win at 6. You earned some dirty looks from them, and when you were about to flip her off, Yuffie beat you to it.
