A/N: Thank you to anyone who's back! I know it's been a hot second since I've posted a chapter for this story. But to be honest, I just kind of hate it. Number 1: No one's reading it. 2: It's boring and developing really slowly. 3: I just don't like where it's going. So, spoiler alert! I'm planning on throwing some sort of plot twist in, so if you care enough stay tuned for that. But if I don't get to 300 views by the 1st of 2025 then I'm going to give this one up. Sorry. Anyways, I'm going to be sort of "combining" chapters into one. I read that in a book and I thought it might be smart for some of these shorter chapters, which is most of them. Anyways, enjoy my least favorite story I'm writing and the one I've had writers' block on for two months!

The Apology

Ron knew he had broken Hermione's heart. And seeing her hurt made him forget all about her secrets. He wanted to make it up to her, but he was pretty sure she would never forgive him. But it was her birthday, so he knew he had to try. He went out to the grounds to talk to Harry about it but Hermione had beat him to it.

Now what? Should I just go inside and pretend I didn't see them?

Harry, oblivious that anything was going on called him over. "Ron!"

Ron tensed. He sat on the ground as close to Harry as he could get without seeming gay.

Harry said, "Personal space, mate. Mione, you okay? You were chatting my ear off a second ago."

Hermione was obviously distracted. "Hmm?"

"You okay?" Harry repeated.

"Oh-um-yeah I gotta go!" she packed up her bag and walked away.

"What was that all about?"

Ron didn't stay long enough to hear his full statement. He ran after Hermione. "Hermione, wait!!"

Hermione just walked even faster. Ron stopped chasing her. "I'm sorry, and I mean it."

Hermione stopped. She knew when Ron really did mean something, and he definitely did. She turned around, "For what?"

"Really?" Ron asked sarcastically. "Look I've been nothing but a jerk to you and you don't deserve any excuses." Hermione softened at Ron's (obviously rehearsed) meaningful apology. She didn't interrupt. "And I know your parents are tough on you and that you had just got broken up with. Which by the way he's delusional if he wants to break up with you-" Ron added. Hermione smiled. "I know I don't make anything any easier. But I really wish I could go back and change all the things I said and make myself more supportive. And Hermione-"

Hermione ran and hugged him before he could finish. "Please call me Mione." Hermione smiled, looking tearful. Ron beamed and hugged her tight like he would never let go.

Practice, brooms, and mudbloods

Harry and the Gryffindor Quidditch team were walking to the field when they saw the Slytherin team beat them to it.

"Flint." Oliver Wood (the keeper and captain of the team) said through grit teeth.

"Wood." Marcus Flint (the keeper of his team said looking smug.

"What are you doing?" Wood asked annoyed.

"Quidditch Practice." Flint answered smugly.

"We reserved the field for our team today. I'm sure ya knew."

"Oh, yes." Flint answered slyly. "But we had our head of Slytherin resolve it for us and us only today." Flint took out the contract. Wood rolled his eyes. Katie Bell looked very interested in their brooms.

"Are those Nimbus 2001s?"

"Katie." Harry jabbed her in the ribs.

"Sure are." Draco Malfoy emerged from behind the team.

"Yes, our new seeker's father has so kindly bought them for us."

Hermione and Ron who were sitting on a nearby bench heard the commotion and Ron asked, "What's going on?" They all ignored him.

"Far superior to these- Clean Sweeps." Draco shot a glare at Fred and George Weasley who still looked confident.

"Better than even yours Pottah!" Draco spat.

"At least no one on the Gryffindor team had to buy their way in. They got in on pure talent."

Draco Malfoy looked very embarrassed to be scolded by Hermione. "No one asked your opinion, you filthy little mudblood." Draco defended. But Hermione stood her ground. But Ron had blown his top.

"Oh, you'll pay for that one Malfoy!" he whipped out his wand and yelled, "Eat slugs!" But since his wand was broken it backfired. Malfoy was very pleased.

"Eat slugs? That the best you can do weaselbee?" Malfoy called after him laughing with his teammates. They marched off triumphantly to practice. Wood, Angelina, Katie, Alicia, and Fred and George left feeling downtrodden leaving Ron ejecting slugs. Hermione was bent down next to him rubbing his back.

"Ron! Why did you do that?! You know your wand is broken."

Colin Creevey took a flash picture of them. "Cool!"

"Move out of the way Colin!" Harry pushed past him. "Let's take him to Hagrid's! He'll know what to do." So, they did. (All goes according to book.)
