Haneul's pov

My skin felt numb to the bone, my head hurting as if someone just set a fire right into my brain.

The only person my eyes made visible to me

was Jay.

I wanted to scream his name. I wanted to ask him for help and make my heart healthy again.

I screamed his name louder and louder. But the room remained silent.

In the blink of an eye, my head already hit the hard ground.

"Haneul !"
His words were the last ones I could hear before my vision already turned black.

Haneul's pov end.

5 hours before

"I'll be off to school then!"
Haneul yelled as she swung herself around the railing of the stairs.

"Wait! Jay wanted to pick you up"
Halmeoni appeared from behind the counter, stopping the girl from leaving.

The girl raised her brows but had to grin once she heard the mention of his name again. He had already picked her up so many times since school had started again.

You could actually see and already tell that both of them drew closer to each other since that one time Jay helped Haneul in the almost untraceable room in the basement.

Haneul slowly but surely gained the experience of not having to eat alone on the toilet but together with someone else in the cafeteria. She was so glad to have gotten so close with Jay over the time.

No, she hadn't told him about her secret yet.

But there would once be the right time to tell him, she had always thought  about it and played the scenario out in her mind.

"I just hope he wouldn't get cold picking me up everyday"
The brown haired girl mumbled to herself in a noiseless tone.

"Here, wear a scarf, it's getting really cold outside these days"
The elderly woman wrapped a warm and cozy scarf around the girl's neck from behind, catching her off guard as she immediately had to smile wrapping her hands around the cushioned fabric.

Haneul freed one arm from the straps of her bag and pulled out a sweet beanie which she promptly slipped over the woman's head, causing her to let out a beam.

"The door's always opened, take care y'all won't get too cold"
Haneul threw her arms around Halmeon's neck before laughing one more time and leaving the café thereafter.

Haneul couldn't see it but Halmeoni spent at least two more minutes just watching Haneul and Jay greeting each other before they were off down the road.

"What do you think about dark chocolate?"
The girl randomly asked on their way to school, currently walking up the hill, accompanied by Jay who looked at her with an amused expression.
