"Ah Lan, it's too warm, I need a drink. The guards are here, they can't keep the scorpions away."
Wei was having nightmares about things he had no knowledge of, and Ying guessed correctly that it was the Spirit who was having the dreams and releasing them through Wei. There wasn't anything they could do unless the situation turned dangerous, and then a healer could be summoned to help.
Yunlan was hearing him loud and clear, but also seeing the pictures in his mind which were horrifying, but he held on and kept talking to Wei. He had realised that he was running a fever and presumed that there would be someone beside him to help, especially if he was in private care.
"The scorpions are not real Wei. It's a dream, they can't harm you. Stand on them and kill them all, fight against them."
Wei started kicking to kill the black threat while Ying watched him fight in his sleep.
"They're going away Lan, they're all dead in the tank... He broke your ankle Ah Lan, are your fingers better, they were damaged, he's mad. I can fix your hand, stay still my love."
Yunlan almost threw up when he saw his own ankle and his smashed fingers and was worried at how Wei could imagine something so horrible, until he heard another calm reassuring voice in his mind.
"Release me My Young Lord, I don't want to harm you. I can stay in the Enigma Room until it is the right time to return, talk to Yunlan."
"Who are you?" Yunlan asked as he felt himself shiver, this was beyond anything Wei could imagine, this voice was real and he knew his name.
"I am the Spirit who lives within this host. But he needs to set me free for him to heal. My Lord ask him. He will agree if you ask. I am the reason you can talk to him and I will not take this gift away when I leave, ask him please. His temperature is climbing because I am ill."
Yunlan took time to think about his options. If this Spirit was correct then Wei's temperature would come down, and he couldn't imagine a negative outcome. There was sincerity in the tone of this voice and Yunlan agreed.
"What do I say that would make him release you without any harm?" He asked because he knew nothing about Black Robe or his connection to either of them.
The Entity gave Yunlan clear instructions on what he had to say and he took a deep breath in before he repeated ti.
"Wei, in the name of Kunlun, release the Spirit within immediately." And Yunlan held his breath as he listened in his mind, but there was only silence, and he questioned if any of this was real.
In the medical room, Wei's temperature was rapidly climbing and they couldn't stop it, until suddenly there was an ice cold blast of wind which circled around the room, before a black blur burst out of nowhere. Guard Yan and Guo Ying dropped to their knees while the freezing dark whirlwind picked up speed and then vanished as quickly and as silently as it had appeared. Ying instantly dashed towards Shen Wei to check his breathing, but he was stable and his temperature was slowly coming down. Both guards began to wash and change Wei into fresh clean clothes while he returned to normal and exhaustion took over.
"Ah Lan, are you there?" Wei asked quietly in his mind and waited.
"Wei Ah, you scared me, are you alright? What was that, sorry, who was that? He was worried for your health, I could hear it in his voice. Has he gone?"
Wei smiled to himself, he was about to tell one of the biggest secrets to someone whom he'd never met but trusted, and he continued.
"To put it simply, he's my lodger, he lives in my mind and enhances my life. He protects me and helps me, and would never do anything to harm me or my friends. I've known him for a very long time. He's a spirit, an Entity, a different person. We share the same space, the same body but he stays silent most of the time. He originally came from the homeworld and now lives here."
