Jayce politely smiled as his mother introduced him to her coworkers and old friends.
This has been going on for a hour in which he was getting anxious, it was the touching the older women were doing as they reminisced about him being 'this young' that made him cringe.
But anything to make his mother happy, especially on her big day.
Spotting Caleb walking through the doors with a plus one, Jayce smiled to himself.. saved by his best friend.
"Ma there go Caleb, I'm going to go holla at him..it was nice meeting you all again". He politely nodded before kissing the top of his mother's head.
Hurrying away he made his way towards Caleb, the smile on his face widening. "Wassup, you cleaned up nice". Dapping him up, Caleb chuckled wiping off imaginary dirt.
"I mean I do put that shit on time from time, you look good my brother". Jayce playfully posed showing off the brown knitted two piece set he had on.
"Anyways, Jayce this is Crystal..Crystal this is my boy Jayce".
The brown skin woman smiled brightly as she extended her hand out. "Nice to meet you,I've heard a lot about you".
Jayce shook her hand with his eyebrow raised, "I hope it was good things".
Crystal laughed leaning into Caleb, "Yes it was".
"Well shit come on let me take yall to see my mama and let's get some drinks going, I'm ready to turn up". Caleb raised an eyebrow as Jayce turned to walk to his mom who was on the dance floor.
For some reason Jayce had an anxious feeling he couldn't shake, he knew it was more than likely because it's a room full of people—people he barely knew.
It didn't take long for them to make their way towards the bar. Starting off with something light, Jayce leaned on the counter sipping the fruity drink Meisha the bartender had whipped up for him.
As he, Crystal, and Caleb were laughing and chatting, Caleb suddenly stopped talking as he looked towards the entrance.
"Jayce don't trip out". Was all Caleb said.
Jayce furrowed his eyebrows following his gaze, his jaw clenched.
"The fuck".
