Chapter: 08
Notes TW: Slight angst again. Homophobic slurs.
Felix pushed the door open to his dorm, his bag hanging lazily off his shoulder. He had just left Wooyoung's place after studying, though not for lack of trying—San's incessant teasing and overly affectionate behavior with Wooyoung had made staying there unbearable. Felix wasn't in the mood to play third wheel to their romantic antics. It was late anyway, the sky outside blanketed in a deep indigo hue, with a cool breeze whispering through the trees as if encouraging him to retreat somewhere quieter.
Stepping into the dimly lit dorm, he immediately noticed the silence. Jisung wasn't there. He must have gone to his apartment, Felix thought, though he didn't dwell on it for long. His attention quickly shifted to the figure sprawled comfortably on the sofa, waiting for him.
"Baby, you're finally here," Changbin greeted, his voice warm and laced with affection. His dark eyes sparkled as he patted his lap, motioning for Felix to join him. "I saw Jisung storm out earlier with his bag, but it looks like we've got the place to ourselves. Perfect timing! Is something wrong, though? You look a bit off."
Felix let out a long sigh before plopping himself onto Changbin's lap, his head resting on the older's sturdy shoulder. The tension in his body eased slightly as Changbin's arms encircled his waist, grounding him.
"Ugh, it's just been one of those days," Felix groaned, closing his eyes for a moment. "I was with Woo and Ji earlier. We were heading to that cute cat café everyone's been raving about."
"Mhm," Changbin murmured, one hand playing with Felix's soft hair, the other gently tracing patterns on his back, silently encouraging him to continue.
"We were having fun—like, about to buy matching Sanrio phone cases fun—until he showed up. Lee Minho." Felix spat the name out like it burned his tongue. "And guess who was with him? That walrus-looking ass—what's his name again?"
"Gyuvin?" Changbin offered, a chuckle escaping his lips. "You mean that new guy hanging out with Mingi and his friends?"
"Exactly! Him!" Felix straightened his posture, his voice rising in exasperation. "They were on a date or something, at least according to Jisung. He saw them and just lost it, stormed off, leaving me and Woo standing there. So we went back to Woo's dorm to study, but then his hotheaded boyfriend came back all riled up. I didn't want to third wheel again, so I left. Figured I'd come here to find you, not that I'm complaining about seeing you sooner than expected."
