I was sitting at the dinner table waiting on my little sister when I heard a crash outside. Oh crap! Mom and Dad were sleeping I was the only one awake, when they had come home asking where Lily was, I had lied and said she was at her friends house and would be home in a bit they weren't worried about her she was always at a friends.

I jumped up from my chair and rushed to the window. I peered outside and looked around, someone had knocked down our trash can. Damn drunks!

"Okay ... pull yourself together Scarlet ... she's fine nothing happened to her she didn't run away like Matty." Another crash made me inhale sharply this one was right outside the front door. I grabbed the baseball bat from beside the table and went out to investigate.

I opened the door and looked out through narrowed eyes my eyes landed on a heap laying on the door step. I bent down to get a better look at it the features looked familiar, the hair, the eyes, the height. It was Lily I grabbed her shoulders and shook them in the brief moment she was awake she muttered something I bent down to hear better. It sounded like .... "Rouges attacking." I gasped "No stay with me keep your eyes open, come on Lily fight! Fight for me, fight for your family!" I begged as I dragged her inside.

"Mom! Dad! Help me!" I cried, I dumped Lily on the couch and ran up the stairs into our parents room. They were sound asleep when I burst into their room. I turned the light on and started flipping out. "Get up! Lily was attacked by rouges we have to help he-" and that's when it hit me I couldn't hear anything not their heart beat not even their breathing. I stumbled out of their room and mind linked the beta also our family's closest friend.

Jason they won't wake up they killed my family!!! I cried into his mind.

It's okay I'll be their in a minute. He soothed me gently.

As soon as he got to me with the gamma and my best friend he confirmed that the attack was from rouges they got down to business. I broke into their argument with a single question.

"Who's the alpha now, who's going to lead us?" I whispered, they looked at me with a mix of curiosity and confusion. It was the gamma who answered me though.

"You are, your the alpha now." He said slowly as if I was a 2 year old. "But-" I protested knowing it was no use.

"No buts, it's your turn to lead."
