This song's stuck in my head, can't seem to shake it off ~ 🎶🎤

Word count: 1013 words

In the sleek, dimly lit Invincible United lounge, a rare tranquility settled over the usually bustling space. Skarra, Dooma, Dingaan, and Automatic lounged on plush couches, unwinding after a day of intense drills and game strategizing. Skarra, in particular, looked more relaxed than usual, his rivalries and rivalries momentarily forgotten. He leaned back, one arm draped across the couch, the other gripping a glass as he closed his eyes.

Without much thought, he began to sing softly, his voice surprisingly catchy for someone usually known for his ruthless attitude. The lyrics of APT by Bruno Mars and Rosé spilled from his lips, an almost colorful tone coloring his voice.

🎶 "Don't you want me like I want you, baby? Don’t you you need me like I need you now?" 🎶

Skarra’s voice was surprisingly smooth, flowing with a carefree vibe, and the melody carried across the lounge. The others paused, caught off guard by the uncharacteristic display. Dooma raised an eyebrow, Automatic smirked, but Dingaan was the quickest to act.

From across the room, Dingaan discreetly whipped out his phone, the screen glinting in the lounge’s lighting. He had never seen Skarra so immersed, so open. A mischievous grin spread across his face as he started recording without Skarra’s knowledge, zooming in to capture every expression, every movement of Skarra’s performance.

🎶 "Sleep tomorrow but tonight, go crazy, all you gotta do is just meet me at the---" 🎶

Automatic nudged Dooma, gesturing at Dingaan, who held a finger to his lips, silently urging them to keep quiet. The recording continued, with Skarra seemingly oblivious to his teammates’ watchful eyes. It was rare to see him like this, without the cocky smirk or sharp comebacks that usually defined him.

Finally, Dingaan stopped recording as Skarra finished the chorus, letting his voice trail off into a peaceful hum.

Dingaan leaned over, whispering to Automatic, “Should I send this to Shakes?” He couldn’t resist; the idea of Shakes seeing this would be legendary.

Automatic chuckled, “Oh, he’s gonna lose it. Go on, man. Let the rivalry have some... flavor.”

With a conspiratorial smirk, Dingaan tapped a few buttons and hit Send. He barely had to wait a few seconds before seeing the notification pop up: Message delivered to Shakes.

Just then, Skarra opened his eyes, looking around at his unusually quiet teammates, sensing the slight shift in the air. “What’s with the faces?” he asked, brows furrowing in suspicion.

“Nothing!” Dingaan replied a little too quickly, hiding his grin.

Skarra’s eyes narrowed. He knew these guys too well. “Alright, what did you do?”

Automatic shrugged, trying to keep his composure. “Nothing much, Skarra. You just might be... trending in certain circles.”

“Certain circles?” Skarra echoed, irritation creeping into his voice. “What the hell did you do?”

Dingaan leaned back, folding his arms. “Oh, I don’t know… Maybe gave Shakes a little… taste of your vocal talents.”

Skarra’s face went pale. “You did not…”

The unmistakable sound of a phone notification went off, making Skarra flinch. He looked down at his own phone to see a message from Shakes.

Shakes 🦔: Yo, didn’t know you had a hidden talent, Skarra! Never took you for a Rosé kinda guy 😂

Skarra’s heart dropped, and the color returned to his face in the form of a deep blush. Automatic burst into laughter, wiping his tears as Dingaan joined in, looking as pleased with himself as ever.

“You guys…” Skarra’s voice was low, a mixture of disbelief and frustration. “I swear, you’re all dead men.”

Dooma smirked, clearly enjoying the show. He leaned forward. “Relax, Skarra. Shakes just got a glimpse of the ‘real you.’ Besides, maybe he’ll finally stop thinking you’re all scowls and no soul.”

Skarra threw a cushion at him, which Dooma dodged easily. “Shakes doesn’t get to see the ‘real me,’” Skarra muttered, flustered.

But, as if on cue, his phone buzzed again. Another message from Shakes.

Shakes 🦔: Honestly, didn’t think you’d be into this song. You’ve got taste, I’ll give you that.

Skarra could practically hear the teasing lilt in Shakes’ voice, even through text. He gritted his teeth, determined not to give his teammates the satisfaction of seeing him truly rattled.

“What? No snappy comeback?” Automatic taunted, crossing his arms.

“Oh, don’t worry,” Skarra growled, “I’m just letting my ideas simmer.”

Dingaan chuckled. “Bring it on, Skarra. Besides, I’m sure Shakes is just enjoying the… softer side of you.”

Skarra rolled his eyes, but inside, he knew he’d have to think of something to redeem himself from this newfound “sensitive guy” image. There was no way he was going to let this go.

Just then, his phone chimed again. He picked it up reluctantly, his face falling as he read the message.

Shakes 🦔: “By the way, I may have shown Spenza the video. And the team too. They said they’re ‘sharing it with the world’ for you. Thought you should know 😎

Dingaan nearly choked on his drink, catching Skarra’s expression of horror. “Wait, what?” Dingaan gasped, barely containing his laughter.

“You—” Skarra clenched his phone tightly, his voice dropping to a dangerous tone. “You have no idea what you’ve unleashed.”

“Oh, we know exactly what we’ve unleashed,” Automatic smirked, clinking his glass with Dingaan’s.

Skarra stood up, glaring daggers at each of his teammates in turn. “This isn’t over,” he said, a dark glint in his eye. “You guys better watch your backs because I’m coming for every single one of you.”

As Skarra stormed off to plot his revenge, Dingaan and Automatic broke into laughter, unable to contain themselves any longer.

“Think he’ll actually go through with it?” Dingaan asked, wiping a tear from his eye.

Automatic shrugged. “Knowing Skarra, he probably will. But hey, it was worth it just to see his reaction.”

Skarra’s threat echoed faintly from the hallway. “This isn’t over!”

They raised their glasses in a toast, fully prepared to face whatever Skarra had in store. After all, for the members of Invincible United, a little rivalry among friends was just part of the fun.
