Kams POV
"Well done guys!" Taylor called to us as the tech guys removed her jacket and in-ears.
"You did great" I smiled, sipping from my water bottle. I loved how supportive she always was, always congratulating us.She turned around, dropping the towel she was holding.
"Travis!" She squealed, practically falling into Travis's waiting arms. I smiled; watching people in love was the most beautiful thing ever.I remembered the first rehearsal after she broke up with Joe, the first show. She wouldn't talk to anyone. We all tried to include her, make sure she was okay, but she just shrugged it off, said she was fine. She show went by flawlessly, almost no one could tell she was doing it with a broken heart. But we could; I could hear her crying in her dressing room occasionally, spotting her red eyes after leaving the bathroom.
And Joe. He never came to any rehearsals; he promised he would, and then cancelled each time. She said that it was fine, that it didn't matter. But it did matter, it always mattered.
"That was so amazing baby, I'm so proud of you" Travis gushed and I turned away, slightly conscious that I was watching a private moment. The two lovebirds started walking down the corridor, holding each other.
"Hey Kam?!" Jan called, and I turned around. "You coming?" I nodded, grabbing my cloth and water bottle before jogging after Jan. I fell into step beside him as we walked back to our dressing room, chatting about the show.
"That was fire, man!" Jan exclaimed as he held the door open for me.
"It really was! You were great" I laughed, setting my stuff down on the table. We quickly got changed then gathered our stuff and left the stadium, making sure to wait until all the fans have gone.
We were standing in a big group near the back entrance to the stadium, waiting for the cars to come collect us and take us back to the hotel. Most of the other dancers had already left, and so there were only six of us still there. Just then Tree appeared, looking flustered and slightly annoyed.
"Have you guys seen Taylor?" She huffed. I bit back a laugh; that girl was always giving this redhead a headache.
"I think she went to her dressing room with Travis" I told her.
"Of course she did" she grumbled, starting to walk slowly back towards the stadium. She had barely made it two steps when there was a loud bang, and smoke erupted from the stadium. Debris flew everywhere, raining down on us. I looked back up to see a chunk out of the arena, flames licking up from the inside. Screams could be heard; all the fans who had left, the few people inside. My ears were ringing from the force of the explosion as the debris settled around us.
"Everyone okay?" Natalie shouted. A chorus of 'yes's could be heard, but Tree was silent as she stood with her back to the group.
"Oh my god" she whispered, just loud enough for us to hear.
"Are you okay Tree? Are you hurt?" Sam called to her. She turned around, pure horror and devastation written on her face.
"There's people in there. Taylor's in there- Travis too" silence settled among the group as we all took in her words, the horror of the situation really settling in."The fire department is coming!" Natalie called, the phone up to her ear. But my heart felt heavy as I thought of all those people inside, my friends. They would be okay, right? They had to be okay.
The group was silent as we waited for the fire department to arrive. A couple of people were crying, but most of us were just staring, frozen in shock. The fans outside the stadium had been escorted away by a couple of security guards but we all just stood there, frozen. The fire was getting bigger, the flames higher. I was unsure if anyone could even survive that, but I pushed those thoughts out of my mind. Taylor, Travis, her security; they would be okay. They had to be.
