(Lydia POV)
I'm sat around a table with the ninja doodling on a piece of paper as Nya tries to teach us about the Fangpyres venom and how the effects can be reversed.
I'm only half listening when I look up to see Nya's a little pink in the face.
"Uhh Nya are you okay? You look a little pink" I point out.
"I'm okay but uhh, sorry is anyone wearing perfume? I'm severely allergic to perfume" she says covering her face slightly.
"You told me it was men's cologne" Jay whispers to kai angrily.
"Ehh I get them mixed up" kai laughs and everyone else joins in.
"Hey stop laughing that was really mean" I lecture as Zane stands up.
"Yeah whatever shortie" kai brushes me off.
"Well looks like class is over, time to start stomping some serpentine, before they find any fangblades" Cole says as he stands up and we all do the same.
"Sounds like a plan!"
"I'm excited to join"
"Hey I'm serious that was mean!" I say running after the ninja.
I follow the ninja out to the deck where they then start to train. I watch for a second before walking down to them. "could I train with you guys?" I ask interupting their flow.
Honestly I surprised myself with the question, it was just a thought I didn't mean to say it out loud.
"Uhh I don't know Lydia, it's dangerous" Cole says scratching his head.
"Sensei would not approve" Zane lectures.
"Well 'sensei' isn't here is he?" I retort.
"Look kid, we just don't want you getting hurt okay? And you're way too weak to train with us" kai says as the ninja all walk over to me.
"But- please! I want to be of some help when you rescue Lloyd, or- or what if I get kidnapped by the serpentine? Please just teach me a little bit!" the ninjas look around at each other unsurely.
I felt so helpless when Lloyd got camptured, I just ran away. I was useless. I can't let that happen again. I want to be able to protect Lloyd, and myself.
"Give us a second to discuss" cole smiles awkwardly as they go into a huddle.
Jay skips out from the bridge and towards me and the ninja "hey guys, hey Lydia watcha doing?"
"I want to start training, and they're having a group discussion about it" I explain.
"Whoa whoa whoa, no offence Lydia but I feel like you're a bit too young" Jay laughs.
"I need to learn to protect myself!" I snap back at him.
"Well I'm sure you guys can handle this" Jay says to the four boys "but for now I have to get ready" 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺? 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵?
Jay skips away happily before anyone can ask any questions. 𝘞𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘮𝘰𝘰𝘥.
After a little bit of whispering from the ninjas Cole turns back around to me.
"Lydia, we have decided that uhh...kai will begin to train you from now on"
"What? Hey! Why me?!?" Kai retorts "that is not what we agreed to!!"
"Look I just feel like the kid deserves some training, she needs to be able to protect herself when we aren't around"
