There was a lot of traffic that day, and it had to be on the day of her practice, thought Lavy, crossing her arms in frustration in the back of their family car. She huffed and turned to look at her brother, Ben, who was too busy snoring away, his tamed curly brown hair now all unruly from leaning on the car door to her left, finding no comfort in that she turned to look at her sister.

''Noooora, why can't you just carry me on your back, İm sure we can make it in time if you run'' Lavy said while dramatically falling into her sister's lap, faking fainting.

She slightly opened her eyes to see her sister's reaction ''Oh don't be silly, you know you're the faster of the lot'' replied Elenora, playfully shoving her sister off her lap.

Their mother faced the back while telling her husband Mr. O'th to keep his focus on the road, making him grumble under his breath saying stuff like 'not like we'll move any time soon' and 'Why tell me the thing I am already doing' earning him a scowl but no further comment, turning her attention back to the kids ''Lavender May do not make such ridiculous suggestions, and Rose don't shove your sister. Act like the proper ladies I've taught you to be!''.

The sisters waited till she faced the front again to start slowly sniffling out their waves of laughter, making Mrs. O'th close her eyes and pinch the bridge of her nose to calm herself 'You'd think they weren't raised by a proper family but ravounes creatures!' she thought to herself.

Elenora got right up in the middle of the two front seats and leaned forward towards her mother ''Mother, how many times must I tell you, it's either Nora or Elenora, please.''

''What not to like about Rose, it's a proper lady name, and who named you that weird name with an ever weirder nickname?'' said Mrs. O'th

Elenora tried her best not to roll her eyes, afraid she'd be caught and scolded again ''İ like Rose, İ just think İm more of a Nora that's all, and dad named me, remember?'' she turned to her dad and quietly whispered a small thank you, which he returned with a nod.

Her mother scowled ''Right, though it wasn't your father, but his mother's idea. Still, your father's side I suppose'' she retorted, not liking where this conversation was leading.

Mrs. Petal O'th was once Petal Fledge, the Daughter of a high businessman and his wife Peter Fledge and Orchid Fledge, who owned many factories across the country, even some abroad. The Fledges and O'ths knew each other before the O'ths were even called that. They once were Haustons.

No one knew why they changed their name, many speculated they may have done it because they were hiding from a notorious mobster group, or that they had gone against the government and were now wanted, but none were confirmed or had any reliable proof to go off of so it remained a mystery for decades, but it was still considered weird that even the furthest Hauston relative suddenly became an O'th.

Mr. O'th knew, as all those who carried that last name were in on the secret when they had come of age, but he refused to tell his wife, which might as well made her herself crazy but a girl can only try and fail so many times and still look her husband in the eye the very next day, so she had no choice but to quit her 'childish' antics when he had had enough.

The reason Petal O'th disliked her mother-in-law was because she thought she was a mad lady. She hadn't any common sense or logic in her bones. That wasn't the case, that was just her way of seeing things but she never dared to push the matter too far, afraid of being confronted by her husband for acting like his mother was a lunatic which would be a great insult. (She liked her calm husband, she was the voice of the house, and she didn't want him to be mad at her, ever, again.)
