Before leaving, Song Miyun exchanged contact information with Qi Xianqing.

In this world, while cultivation is important, connections are equally valuable. For cultivators, exchanging contact information means transferring a wisp of one's divine consciousness into another's messaging talisman, allowing them to communicate with ease should the need arise. Song Miyun transferred a sliver of her consciousness into Qi Xianqing's talisman.

Song Miyun then turned to Yan Jue, looking at her with a warm smile. "Daoist Yan, shall we exchange contact information as well?"

Her gaze lingered on Yan Jue, intense, but not in the usual way—it was as though she were scrutinizing a rare and precious ingredient.

"..."

They say that the healers of Lotus Island are obsessed with medicine, and Song Miyun certainly lived up to her reputation. Given that Lotus Island's healers are so single-mindedly devoted to their craft and indifferent to other matters, Yan Jue had no concerns about Song Miyun revealing her identity.

With that, Song Miyun gracefully took her leave.

Lu Yanshuang's cool gaze swept over Yan Jue and Qi Xianqing before she, too, turned to depart. But Qi Xianqing quickly stepped in to stop her, addressing her naturally, "Aunt, may I discuss something with you?"

The way she called her "Aunt" was so natural that it caught Yan Jue off guard, and her ears burned a bright red. She turned to Qi Xianqing, lips parting to speak but saying nothing in the end.

Yan Jue's former master, Yun Zhen, had been bold and charming, exuding confidence and allure. In contrast, Qi Xianqing was reserved and coolly composed. Despite her calm tone, she conveyed the utmost respect, leaving no room for discomfort.

No matter how Lu Yanshuang felt about it, Yun Zhen had taught her disciple well.

Lu Yanshuang hesitated briefly, then gestured for Qi Xianqing to step aside to speak privately. Yan Jue followed, curious to know what Qi Xianqing wanted to discuss. Just then, she felt a gentle tug on her hand.

Qi Xianqing was beside her, eyes lowered. "There's a small dip here; don't trip."

Under the sunlight, Qi Xianqing's fingers, cool and soft, barely touched Yan Jue's own.

Yan Jue felt her scalp tingle as she caught a glimpse of Lu Yanshuang's bewildered expression.

Yan Jue muttered, "I'm not blind, you know." But she had nearly stumbled into that little rabbit hole—Qi Xianqing's reminder was timely.

Is this what it's like to have Qi Xianqing as a companion? It's surprising to see such a fierce warrior act so... attentive.

Her cheeks reddening, Yan Jue quickly slipped out of Qi Xianqing's grasp, sidestepping the small dip and moving forward.

Qi Xianqing: "..."

The three of them found a quiet spot under the trees.

Qi Xianqing's eyes fell on the white butterfly perched on Lu Yanshuang's shoulder. The butterfly, with its odd cat-like face, had been resting there all along, gently flapping its wings—a bizarre creature, and strangely in line with her master's aesthetic.

Lu Yanshuang's expression was still unfriendly. After all, Qi Xianqing was Yun Zhen's disciple, and now seemed to be getting close to her princess. This didn't make Lu Yanshuang particularly inclined toward friendliness. "Speak. What is it you wish to discuss?"

Qi Xianqing sat formally, hands clasped on her knees, and asked, "I wanted to ask if there have been any recent reports from the demon clans—specifically, any involving me."
