Love is such a beautiful concept. It is something that fulfills us, whether through a person, a pet, a passion, or anything that brings joy. Love is love.
When people think of love, romantic love often comes first to mind.
That enchanting connection—filled with subtle glances, eyes sparkling with adoration, and the electrifying sensation that courses through you upon a gentle touch.
Even the moments where silence falls give the chance to showcase how even if there are no words shared, their actions speak much louder than any words that are spoken from a microphone.
Sure, others might argue otherwise, but we all yearn for this captivating kind of love. Who wouldn't? The crush phase can lead to a whirlwind of emotions—the frustrating "UGH!" moments, the longing "I wish they'd notice me," or perhaps the thought of "They're so in love with me," if you're feeling delusional enough. But seriously, it's exciting, it's maddening. What if it's all in your head? However, the rush of excitement when your feelings seem to be reciprocated is a frighteningly thrilling experience.
While in our quest for this certain type of love, we sometimes overlook the beauty and broadness of it all. Love can be found everywhere and isn't confined to romantic relationships. Take friendship, I love my best friend.
Now let's clarify that—I platonically love my best friend.
Why? They inspire me, supporting me to become the best version of myself. Their whole impact on my life is a very big reason for my admiration for them.
And then there's my cat. Even though I barely see them now, I still care for them as if they were right next to me. You might wonder how I can still love a pet despite the distance, and the answer is that I'll choose to always continuously love them. I choose to cherish the fondness and scratches of my cat. I'll forever choose to long and love my cat, even if it's from far away. Some might think I'm not just talking about my cat; maybe that's true. This illustrates how love works.
Its strength means that trust, respect, care, and fondness can endure—even from a distance. Many are familiar with the phrase, "I love them so much, I let them go." Many are quick to think, "I could never do that! I love them too much!" That sentiment isn't wrong, but people will truly understand once they have experienced it. Because true love is selfless. When you love someone, you genuinely wish for their happiness. Sometimes, that means letting them go, even if it breaks your heart.
Maybe it was a painful break-up, a fierce disagreement, or a realization that things can't work out. No one wishes for this to happen, but they simply can't ignore them once they do.
So consider this: if you and your beloved faced circumstances that cause the only acceptable choice would be to part ways for their happiness and growth, would you have the strength to do it?
Would you prioritize their well-being even at your cost? I would. That's the essence of love. When you genuinely care and adore someone so much, you'll let them go for them to flourish into something better, something they couldn't have done with you by their side. Even if it feels bittersweet. If you love something deeply, that sacrifice becomes worthwhile.
All of this showcases the different forms of love. It is a profound concept that we all desire and sometimes misunderstand. Love can be intimidating and overwhelming, but in the midst of chaos lies its beauty. Ultimately, love is beautiful, and we are all captivated by it.
