Nezuko came running at us as we approached, I ran right back at her. I didn't care how exhausted I was.

We ran straight into a hug.

"You're awake." I said, I started crying just a bit. "I thought you'd never wake up."

I could hear her response in my head, what she would've said as a human. "I'm sorry if I worried you, but I was scared you wouldn't come back either." She'd say

"Nezuko! I missed you!" Tanjiro said and ran up next to us.

Nezuko let go of me and tackle hugged him straight to the ground.

"You woke up!" Tanjiro said.

"Where's Urokodaki?" I asked.

"Right here." He said and started walking towards us. "Good to see you both made it through."

"Of course we did! There's no way we'd fail! At least I wouldn't fail, don't know about him." I said and pointed to Tanjiro who was still on the floor being hugged by Nezuko.

"Regardless, you both made it back and that's what matters." He said.

We all started walking back to the house when I realized something.

"Nezuko? What did you do without us?"

"She read this book." Urokodaki pulled out a book.

"No way! Tanjiro! Your diary was actually useful!!" I said.

"It's not a diary." He said.

"Then what is it!?" I asked.

"It's a book in which I write my thoughts and feelings." He said.

"That's the literal definition of a diary!"

"No it's not!"

"Be quiet you two." Urokodaki said.

He took us back to the main room where he sat down and started explaining something to me.

"Hiroko," he began. "You currently know components of three different breathing styles, correct?" I nodded. "For you to move forward, you must choose only one to master."

I ran through it in my head. 'If Tanjiro has water breathing, then I don't need to have it too, and if I don't have water then I don't have Obsidian so then I have to do ash!'

"I'll do ash breathing." I said.

"You decided quickly, are you sure this is what you want? For when you start, you can't go back." Urokodaki said.

"Yep!" I said.

He sighed at how childish I was being before continuing.

"Your swords will be here in two days, take that time to rest, as it will likely be the only time for a while when you are not busy with healing or missions."

I mostly slept through those two days. Final selections were brutal for sleep, there were too many demons on the ground so I slept in trees. There were few demons in the trees but they were strong, so I had to be on really thin branches. Ya know what's so good about thin branches? They break! Really easily! I can be asleep and suddenly a branch'll break at midnight and I'll fall onto the ground.

All in all, sleeping in that forest SUCKED.

I occasionally woke up to eat or to spend time with Nezuko, but I mostly slept, hoping the days would pass faster so I could start killing demons.

I was right. The two days went by in a flash and I got my swords in no time.

I excitedly held them for the first time to see what color they would turn, luckily it fit the color scheme.
