"Honeyduke's Sweetshop is brilliant, but nothing beats Zonko's Joke Shop," Ron said as he climbed the stairs, with Kimberly, Harry, and Hermione following closely behind. "We never got to go to the Shrieking Shack; you know it's the most—"

"Haunted building in Britain. I know," Harry cut him off, a hint of amusement in his voice.

As they ascended to the Seventh Floor landing, they noticed a crowd gathering, whispers buzzing like an angry swarm of bees. "What's going on?" Harry asked, peering over the heads of the students.

"Probably Neville forgot the password again," Ron snickered. Just then, a familiar voice rang out from the crowd.

"Hey!" Neville exclaimed, sounding both defensive and sheepish next to him. "Oh, you're there," Ron said, spotting Neville.

Percy Weasley squeezed past the crowd, looking flustered and authoritative. "Let me through, please! Excuse me, I'm Head Boy! Get back! All of you! No one is to enter this dormitory until it has been fully searched!" he announced, his voice booming above the chatter. Kimberly rolled her eyes at Percy's pompousness.

"What's the fuss about?" she whispered to Hermione, who shrugged, her brow furrowed in concerns.

Ginny emerged from the crowd, her face ashen. "The Fat Lady... she's gone."

"Serves her right. She was a terrible singer," Ron quipped, earning an immediate glare from Hermione.

"It's not funny, Ron," she scolded, crossing her arms.

Kimberly, standing nearby, shook her head in disbelief. "Hermione's right. This means you guys can't get into Gryffindor Tower!" Her voice was tinged with worry, and she glanced around, hoping for someone to make sense of the chaos.

"Keep calm, everyone. Break into fours. Back to your common room," Percy ordered, trying to maintain control. But no one followed his commands; murmurs of panic spread like wildfire.

"The headmaster's here," Percy exclaimed as Dumbledore and Filch climbed the stairs. "Come on, move!" Dumbledore said, his presence commanding the room. "You heard. Move!" Percy finally raised his voice, causing the students to shuffle aside, allowing Dumbledore to pass through.

"Mr. Filch. Round up the ghosts. Tell them to search every painting in the castle for the Fat Lady," Dumbledore instructed, his tone serious as he touched the scratched frame of the empty portrait. "Tell them to search every painting in the castle to find the Fat Lady."

"There's no need for ghosts, Professor..." Filch grumbled, extending his crooked finger toward the ceiling.

High up, near the ceiling, the Fat Lady cowered in a portrait, trembling.
