Red... a dark color that symbolizes the intense emotions of love and passion. A color that can represent the power and confidence an individual may carry. But as beautiful as the color may seem, it can represent the horrors of humanity. Warfare... blood... alarm... danger, all things that red could also symbolize, and things that stained the hallway right now.

The sound of an alarm blared through the long narrow hallway as a red light began to dye its once white walls. The gray concrete floor was now permanently defiled with a crimson liquid as numerous bodies littered it. The only thing that stood in this hallway was a figure donned in all black, a mysterious mask covering their face as blood dripped down the sword that they wielded.

"She was over here!" a voice yelled before it was followed by loud footsteps. The figure looked behind her to see a new group of soldiers standing there, their guns all aimed at her. It would be foolish for her to attack them head on so taking out three kunai, she threw them. Her target was not the soldiers, but the lights illuminating the hallway.

The men scrambled together flashlights but the sound of metal slashing and yells all filled the air before the smell of iron was once again prevalent. One soldier was able to get their flashlight, but once it was illuminated, the man's eyes widened.

His whole squad which consisted of at least ten men were all now littering the floor, motionless as pools began to form under his feet. The flashlight began to shake in the remaining soldier's hand as he heard a thud behind him.

He quickly turned around and was met with the masked woman, her body near his. The man stood there, his body stuck in shock, fear, and disbelief. The silence kept going on until...

"What are you-"

A sudden feeling of pain filled the man's neck as it began to stain his hand. Then once he realized what happened, he fell motionlessly onto the ground.

The masked woman sighed at the sight of bodies around her. It wasn't supposed to be like this, she thought solemnly as she began to close the eyes of the soldiers. I was supposed to be able to get out silently... no blood would have been spilled

The woman's gloved hand lingered on the last soldier's eyelids, her fingers trembling just slightly. She straightened up, taking a slow, steady breath to compose herself. She glanced at her sword, the crimson stains almost mocking her. I never wanted this, she thought, bitterness curling in her chest. I have to get out of here...

Taking one last look at the carnage, she tore her gaze away before running down the hallway. The color of red slowly began to return to her vision as she went down the twists and turns of the facility. Eventually, running through a metal door, she was greeted by the sight of large jeeps and military vehicles. But to take one of those would be foolish as she would be stopped at the gate.

So taking another look around, she decided to just open the garage door and slip out once the smallest crack formed. It would alert the guards but she didn't have any other choice. Pressing the red button nearby, the loud clanking of the garage door began to be heard

Her heart began to beat out of her chest every second passing, her eyes switching rapidly between the metal door and the garage door. But as luck may have it, a small crack began to form from the garage door and the masked figure quickly slipped through it. Then looking at the concrete wall, she knew that it was her way out of there.

SLAM

The noise of the metal door opening behind her echoed in her ear. Taking a small glance behind her, the figure watched as guards began to swarm into the small garage, some of them swarming toward their cars. The figure then pressed a small button within her cloak
