"Stop playing with the radio" my mom snapped as i continued to flip through the stations trying to find a good song. We're now about 8 miles away from my grandmas house. Driving all the way from Detroit Michigan to Compton California we were finally arriving.
"Abigail i will never understand why you choose to go to a school so far away from home" she sighs
"Because i don't like home" i mumble under my breath before sighing and saying "its a good school mom"
The rest of the car ride was silent and soon we approached the huge brick home also known as my grandmothers house. Her calm figure was sitting on the steps but soon stood as we drove into the drive way. The next few minutes includes my mom and her mom talking as i carried my bags up to the room designed for me.The room had simple white walls with wooden floors and a white shaggy rug. There was a window bench-seat ones most used to read books that had a clear view of the ocean, i opened the window letting the warm breeze engulf me as i peered into the fading sunset.
Whatever happened next was a blur..i woke up the next morning wrapped in the cream colored covers and the bright sunlight creeping in through the window.
"Breakfast is ready and on the table, dress yourself before coming down stairs" my grandmothers soft voice entered my ears as she stood leaning against the wooden door frame, her appearance ready for the day in a cream sun dress and curled hair.

A/N: just something short and sweet to let the story start out smoothly. She hasn't really been introduced yet but that's what next chapter is for, leave your thoughts x
