009| Don't drink

"Of course it's fucking wine."

Valentina exclaimed, smiling at her brother before mouthing thank you to the invisible boy.

"That's it. Ten points for Mrs Hart."

Alice said causing Valentina to roll her eyes before Nicholas protested the giving of points.

"No, those belong to me, I solved the riddle. She just saw the bottle on the table."

Nicholas protested, the Harkness's were a competitive bunch, always were, none of them liked losing.

"Calm down, bud. She can't hear you."

Valentina told her brother, who just crossed his arms across his chest, the group looking at her confused.

"Who are you talking to?"

Alice asked, Valentina contemplating telling them the truth before settling on lying to them.

"Mr Hart. I was talking to Mr Hart."

Valentina lied, Agatha knew it but everyone else didn't, Mr Hart looked kind of upset that she had just used his name in a lie, Valentina mouthing an apology to the man.

"Wait, we don't know what'll happen if we drink it."

Alice exclaimed as Mrs hart reached for the bottle, quickly retracing her hand as the woman said this.

"Yes, we fucking do. Something god damn awful is going to happen. But was have to follow these obvious fucking bread crumbs or we're never getting out of here. So does anybody have a bloody corkscrew?"

Valentina told the group her mother nodding along, she was going say the same thing just without all the swearing.

"There's a built in bar."

Teen said going to look for a corkscrew in the built in bar, Nicholas following the boy.

"And I will help you."

Jen said following the boy, Valentina knew Jen was going to bad mouth her and her mother to the boy but there was nothing she could do about it.

"Hey, a bit of advice."

Jen told the boy as soon as she got over to where he and ghost Nicholas were standing.

"Yeah?"

Teen asked he wanted to know what the woman had to tell him,

"Watch your back with Agatha and Valentina."

Jen told the boy, teen's smile dropping, before going to defend them to the woman.

"I know how people feel about them."

Teen said the ghost smiling at the boy, he liked it when someone didn't assume the worst of his family.

"Did you know they traded Agatha son, Valentina's twin brother for the book of the damned?"

Jen asked the boy rhetorically, Nicholas immediately trying to tell them that wasn't true despite neither of them could hear him.

"That's not true. They got that stupid book to try to get me back."

Nicholas tried to tell them but they couldn't hear him, teen speaking up.

"That can't be true."

Teen told the woman, Nicholas nodding his head,

"You're right it's not true."

Nicholas tried to tell the boy but once again no one but Valentina could hear him.

"Nah. Yeah, you're probably right. But that is what people say."
