the torturing exams had passed, and everyone was finally let off for spring break.
over time, sunoo's worries had faded away as jungwon began looking a lot healthier, practically his normal self again.
"hey wonie, are you free today?" he asked as soon as the call connected.
"i am, what's up?" jungwon replied.
"i'm a little bored. wanna go watch a movie?"
"sure, which one?"
"train to busan!"
"oh– isn't that really scary?"
"yeah, is that okay with you?"
"that's fine, i've just never watched many horror movies, that's all."
"don't worry, i'll be there with you. if you don't want to though, i can see if there are any other options"
"no, it's fine, let's watch it."
"ok cool! sunghoon said he can drive us, so i'll be right there!" sunoo exclaimed. "i know his driving is bad, but he's the only person that's free."
"it's okay. as long as we don't crash." jungwon laughed.
"yeah true. i'll see you soon then!" sunoo said.
"yup, bye sunoo hyung!"

"we're here! how was my driving today?" sunghoon asked, parked outside the movie theatre.
"better, i think you improved!" jungwon gave a thumbs up as he and sunoo got out of the car.
"really?" sunoo raised an eyebrow as soon as the vehicle was out of sight.
"i didn't want him to feel bad again," jungwon shrugged, walking towards the movie theatre entrance.
"alright, theatre fifteen will be down the hall, to the right." the staff informed after scanning their tickets.
the two of them made their way down, and got seated. since they were a little late (totally not because sunghoon took the wrong route), they didn't have to watch any ads.
as the introduction began playing, jungwon could feel the coldness of the air creep up on his shoulders, as well as the ominous aura coming from the screen.
sunoo noticed his slight uneasiness. "you okay?" he quietly asked.
"yeah, i'm just kinda scared." jungwon said, almost a whisper.
as the movie progressed and the jumpscares showed up, sunoo noticed the younger boy's hand gripping onto the armrest in between their seats out of trepidation.
without a word, he reached over, gently taking jungwon's hand into his own, warming up and relaxing the cold hand.
sure, he could kind of tell where those dating rumours sparked from, but none of them interacted with each other with romantic intentions in mind. their gestures were just platonic reassurances that they were in this together.
once the movie was finally over, he turned around, watching his friend breathe a sigh of relief and relax his body a little.
"how was it?" sunoo asked.
"terrifying. i don't think i'll be able to sleep tonight." jungwon remarked, his hand still holding onto sunoo's. "...but the scares were kinda fun though now that it's over"
"yeah, that's the thing about horror movies!" sunoo exclaimed. "the rush of adrenaline feels good once everything's finished."
"we should do this another time" jungwon insisted. "just not with zombies anymore, i think i've developed a phobia of them"
sunoo laughed. "sure thing."
