It was literature my least favorite subject of all time I would catch myself dozing off in the middle of lesson due to how boring they were. However this lesson was different, I didn't space out like I normally do because Ms Carter was announcing the partners for the project worth 20% of our grade.
"Justin with josh."
"Sarah and Peter"
"Stacy and heather"
"Vivian and Lynn"
WHAT THE FLIP. I'm paired with Lynn. Of course. The universe just hates me or the universe is giving me another chance to try mend our friendship. After the whole bathroom incident, I'm pretty much convinced she hates my guts which is perfect for me.
I made my way to the empty seat next to Lynn but the moment I sat down she turned to look out the window, refusing to acknowledge my presence. We sat in silence while the other pairs started working on the project. I needed to get a good grade on this project and as much as I was annoyed by Lynn I had to break the silence.
"So did you read the book?"
Lynn looked at me with a 'duh' expression.
"What do you think"she said slightly annoyed.
"Well I haven't I keep sleeping during her class all I know is Scout and Jem are siblings and have a father named Atticus."
"Your hopeless" she replied.
"Whatever I doubt we can finish this during lesson time so we can do it at my house."
"Why your house."
"Fine we'll do it at your house then"
"Fine."
"Fine."
Just in time the bell rang and it was time for lunch. I was gonna put my books back in my locker but remembered that's where Ethan would usually wait for me so I stayed in the classroom and read "To kill a mockingbird" so I don't fail this project. When suddenly I felt a tap on my shoulder. I flinched when I saw Margo,Lynn's friend.
"Hey could I sit?"
"oh um sure I guess." I said confused by Margo's sudden behavior.
"Saw you guys bickering again during literature."
Again? What does she mean by again we never 'bickered' recently unless...
"Wait did you hear what happened in the bathroom.."
"Yeah. Not intentionally though I swear! Just wanted to go pee." She said with her hands in a surrender position.
The room went silent for what felt like forever until Margo said.
"She really misses you Vivian. She's not the same without you." She said before leaving the classroom.
