"She's waking up!" I heard a voice say as I opened my eyes.

The room I was in was unfamiliar. I turned my head to find Carl at my side, but he wasn't there. I sat myself up in bed then fully opened my eyes. I tried to reach my arm to my face to rub my eyes, but my arm wouldn't move because of all the tubes it was connected to.

I looked around the room and saw a lot of people in there. Maggie, Beth, Glenn, Tara, Rosita, and even Eugene.

"Hi?" I squinted, the sunlight of the new room was causing my eyes and head to hurt.

"Oh, oh no. I forgot about her concussion. Can someone close the blinds?" Maggie said worriedly as she rushed over to my side.

Rosita closed the blinds but stayed back in the room. Glenn, Beth, and Tara now joined me at my sides.

"Where's Carl?" I looked around nervously.

"Denise had to do a little operation on him. She moved you in here while that happens. He's okay." Beth explained to me.

"And everybody else? Is the herd still out there?" I felt so disconnected. I had no idea what was going on outside because I was stuck in this bed.

"No. We all dealt with the herd. It's okay now." Glenn stepped in and spoke.

"Wait, Glenn? When- how- did you get back?" I stuttered, shocked to see him.

"Enid helped me get back." Glenn stated.

"And the two of them helped save me." Maggie smiled.

"I'm happy you're all alive." I looked around the room at everyone.

"I'm alive thanks to you." Beth rested her hand on top of mine.

"Don't thank me." I replied.

"How are you feeling? Do you need anything?" Tara asked.

"No, I'm okay. I'd appreciate if someone could tell me what's going on with Carl though." I said, feeling worried about him.

"I will go." Eugene said as he stepped out of the room.

A little bit later Eugene walked back into the room. He stood silently and didn't say anything. Everyone's heads turned towards him waiting to hear something. I looked up at him in anticipation.

"Why aren't you saying anything?" My voice trembled.

"Oh. Yeah, he's fine. She's just finishing up. Sorry." Eugene looked around awkwardly.

"Well couldn't you have lead with that instead of walking in like you were mute?" Tara snapped at Eugene.

This made all of us start laughing. Eugene of course didn't know what to do with himself.

"You're absolutely right. I apologize." He said as he left the room.

"He's so weird." Rosita laughed.

"Tell me about it." I sighed as I layed my head back into the pillow.

"How's your arm doing?" Maggie asked as Rosita left the room along with Tara.

"I dunno. It hurts. Nothing really makes it feel better. Burns are kinda like that. The bandages and ointments make it hurt more than before. But Denise says I need to use them." I explained.

"So does she think it'll heal?" Glenn asked.

"Yeah. She said it'll probably scar but that's alright I guess. I'm not too worried about a scar. I mean, it's a big burn, but it's fine. The price of living, right?" I shrugged my shoulders.
