"Do you want to spend the night?"
My heart was pounding intensely, but I didn't care. I don't regret what I had just asked.
Vi's eyes were wide open, mouth slightly agape.
but... CAITLYN DID YOU REALLY JUST ASK HER THAT!!!
Staring to feel the rejection from the long silence, I began to slowly face my door to open it so I could go inside and dig my grave. "I'm sorry, I-I don't where that even came from-"
"Yes."
It was now my turn to look at her with my widened my eyes and feel the shock. Vi walked to me and leaned her face closer to mine. "May I come in, cupcake?"
I gulped and nodded, still at loss of words. I felt her hand on my left cheek and I couldn't help but rest on it for comfort. "Cat got your tongue, baby?"
"Stop, I'm nervous now." I said with a small laugh, resting my hands on her forearm.
"Why are you nervous? It's just me."
Well... YEAH. I'm nervous because of you.
You staying the night after a really steamy night.
"I've never had anyone spend the night at my place, especially not a girl." I unlocked my door and opened it, letting Vi come in after me, making sure to close the door behind her and lock it.
I turned the lights on and Vi whistled. "You got a cool place." She said, admiring her surroundings. I gave her a small thank you. She immediately started to look around the picture frames and trinkets I had in my living room.
She picked up one of the frames to get a closer look. "Are these your parents?" I walked over to her and let out a small 'mhm', feeling a sharp pain on my heart when I looked at my mother. It was a family picture of the three of us at our garden when I was around 14. My parents held their usual serious expression while I had the biggest smile on my face, proudly showing my tooth gap.
"You look adorable." She said, putting the picture back down.
I laughed softly, "I didn't want to take the bloody picture that day so all morning I was throwing a tantrum like a misfit until my father promised me to take me to the bridge later that day so we could enjoy the breeze together if I behaved and just took the damn picture."
"Spoiled kid." Vi joked, making me nudge her side playfully.
"Do you remember him?" I asked, pointing at the frame next to that one. It was a picture of Jayce and I graduating from the university together. I saw her roll her eyes and smirk as she shook her head. "Pretty boy. How is he anyway?"
"He's good, same old routine. He's been feeling a little neglected because his girlfriend has been stuck in a lot of meetings and being away from home as of late so his pestering has increased incredibly."
Vi chuckled, "The way I wasn't expecting him to have a girlfriend."
She looked over to the last frame and her eyes softened. It was a picture of the club group all together in front of a event center. Everyone else was posing like normal in the picture meanwhile Powder and I were captured mid-jump and holding an award together with a big smile on our faces.
"This was last year. We had finally won the award for 'best invention as a group'. The girls were so happy and I couldn't be prouder for my girls."
Vi looked at me and gave me a big smile. "You truly are amazing, Cait." I smiled back at her warmly, "So are you, you know." I leaned in and kissed her softly.
