"If I start a new generation of Earth Mages, then I'll be in the Council for sure." I told Haru and Jay. "I don't care about you Earth Mages, I just want the honor of helping you."
"Gee, thanks bud." Jay grumbled.
"Yeah Kane, that wasn't the nicest way you could explain why you reasoned with the Asriah." Haru said from the drivers seat.
"I don't care about you people." I retorted.
My thoughts drifted to a different person.
Sarah.
I closed my eyes and imagined her singing softly, her beautiful voice dancing in the wind.
FLASHBACK (a/n listen to vid while reading this scene)
Sarah stood on the edge of the skyscraper we were having a picnic on. She planted her foot on the rim and placed her chin on her knee.
"Be careful, you might fall." I called out from the table.
"Shush, I'm listening to the wind."
Sarah wore a black skintight jumpsuit and had her bright blond hair in a perfect high ponytail. Her fingers were in metal claws that she stole from a near by weapons shop.
I wore a black shirt and black pants. Instead of claws, I had a Japanese style sword, leaning against my leg.
"Sarah, please come and enjoy our date before we have to go inside this damn building, beat some bitches up, and steal back what was stolen from our client." I said, standing up and playing with my sword.
Sarah looked back at me with a smirk. She started walking towards me.
"Let's go now." She said, grabbing my shirt with her fist and pulling me to the edge.
"Sarah, why are you always so eager to go jump off a building?" I asked, laughing.
Sarah turned back to me and put a dangerous grin on her face. "Because I love the thrill of not know if the cord will hold."
We set up the equipment. Sarah jumped, nose first and when the cord stopped, she did a flip and crashed into the window. I pulled the cord up and hooked it to me. I jumped. The wind surrounded me. My cord stopped and I entered through the window Sarah crashed into. I walked around and secured the premises, making sure all the alarm sounds were off when Sarah set them off.
I laughed. Yet another day in paradise.
I found Sarah in the lobby dancing with one of the security guards.
"You can't compete with me." She laughed, taking his gun away and kicking his nuts.
"Careful angel, that's a man's pride and joy." I chuckled, slicing some guards' belts so their pants fall. "You have the case, right?" I asked Sarah.
"You know it." She smirked as she knocked out her 20th guy in a row.
I jumped from the third floor to the main floor. One of the guards tried to attack Sarah from behind. I deflected the bullet with my sword and hit his head with the handle of the sword.
I snapped out of my flashback when Jay smacked me.
"What the hell?" I yelled.
"You were looking like you were caught in a haze." She said.
"Next time don't smack me." I grumbled.
Jay smirked and turned away. She looked so much like Sarah at that moment. She stared off into the distance and sighed.
I wonder what she's thinking, I thought to myself.
I looked away.
I turned to Haru.
"Can we stop by Jan's Monja restaurant before we leave for to go to the Water Kingdom? There aren't any Monja places there."
"Sure, Kane." Haru laughed.
He steered through the village people and through a alleyway.
"This isn't the way." I said promptly.
"This is a short cut." Haru retorted sarcastically.
I rolled my eyes. Haru and his damn short cuts. I looked at Jay again. This time she was playing with Elder Gaeariah. I grunted. I have nothing to do but stare at Jay and argue with Haru.
How disappointing. I could just fly us all to the Water Kingdom, but Haru is afraid of heights. What a sissy.
I looked up at the road. There were a few shops that were open. We finally arrived at the Monja place.
"Monja!" I cheered.
"Monja!" Jay laughed. She jumped off the carriage and an inside.
"Looks like she loves Monja more than you do." Haru chuckled.
"Shut up, no one loves Monja more than me." I said, punching his shoulder playfully.
When entered to see that Jay already ordered a feast of food for us.
"Monja!" She cheered as she ate.
"Monja!" I laughed. I scarfed down four plates of food while Haru ate two. Jay ate six.
"How are you not fat?" I asked Jay, astonished.
"I don't know. I can eat anything and not gain that much weight." She answered, sipping from her cup.
"Yeah, it's the same for me." Haru said.
"You people." I said, rolling my eyes.
We played the bill and walked out.
"Ooo can I get robes? Haru has blue and white robe pants, and I want some cool robes too. You should get some too, Kane. Speaking of which, why don't you have a shirt on Haru?" Jay said.
"It's a free country." Haru shrugged.
"Yeah sure, lets get robes." I lead them to the nearest robe store. I got some traditional light blue robes with white rims. I had the designer make some traditional Earth Mage robes for Jay.
When she came out of the changing room, she wore a tight, olive green sleeveless crop top with baggy style pants (the kind genies wear) that were a dark forest green with designs that showed roots wrapping around her legs, growing. A lose belt made of ancient Chinese currency was tied around Jay's waist. She had cloth tied around her biceps.
"Wow." I said, my mouth agape.
"You look beautiful." Haru said.
"Thanks." Jay said, smiling.
She walked out and hopped in the carriage.
"These robes are much better and comfortable than the shirt and jeans I had on." Jay smiled sweetly.
I jumped in the carriage as Haru climbing onto the drivers seat. I regained my composure and put a mean look on my face.
I can't let this girl get to me.
