Bikers Keeper

It was raining outside and my phone had gone dead. I had just ran away from my abusive boyfriend and I was in the middle of nowhere. It was freezing outside and the wind mixing with rain didn't help at all.

I wasn't completely loss I knew my surroundings, I knew that there was a gas station a couple blocks from his house the only problem is I don't know my exact location.

My gut told me to just keep walking straight so that's what I did. I had found shell gas station. I knocked on the lock door " May I come in please " I asked the lady at the cash register while shivering.

The lady was hesitant but opened it anyways. " are you okay? " the lady had asked while closing the door back. " I'm running away from my abusive boyfriend " I asked while putting my arms over my chest for some type of warmth.

The lady looked at me with a concerned sad expression, " do you have anyone I can call? " the lady asked giving me some hot chocolate from the fountain.

I smiled as a thank you gesture for the hot chocolate.
" um everyone i trust and know is at my school
campus " .

Just as I finished my sentence the door opened which made me jump a little. Looking over to see an unfamiliar male figure with a helmet in his hands.

" you guys are opened right? " the male spoke while looking for something down the isle. " Yes we just opened " The lady spoke.

I was visibly still shivering all I had on was a black camouflage crop top with some blue jeans. " so those people at usc ms, are you gonna call them or a uber? "

I took a deep breath in squeezing my eyes trying to decide if I wanted to tell my sister that he's been abusing me and I needed a ride back to usc quickly.

" I think i'll just try and find my own way back " I put on a fake believable smile while finishing up my hot chocolate and throwing it away.

" you go to usc? " the male figure asked as I turned around to face him with a concerned face.

" maybe " I said while walking towards the door not sure if I should trust him or not.

" don't worry I'm not some type of stalker, I go there too although i've never seen you around before " the male spoke while putting some medicine on the counter and paying for it.

I raised and eyebrow and nodded while giving a fake slight smile " that's nice " I said while opening the door.

" I can give you a ride i'm headed back there now " he said while putting the medicine in his backpack and putting on his helmet.

" i'll take my chances walking back " I said lowly. " if I was in your position I'd take the ride ms" the lady at the cash register spoke.

I squinted my eyes at the dude in the helmet " I don't even know your name " I said closing the door and looking at him .

" Jace, what about you " he gave me a little head tilt
" Hayley " I said while squinting my eyes at him I'd rather walk in the rain then have him take me back.

" enough with the chit chat, you wanna ride back or no? " even though I deeply hated this I took a deep breath in and accepted his offer.

" here " Jace said putting a helmet on my head and fastening it for me. " thanks " I said as he got on the bike.

" any day now " he said looking back at me while on his bike while starting it up. I grabbed on to his shoulders and got on the bike.

" I suggest you hold on Hayley " he said putting my arms around him. I took my arms back and just tucked them in front of me " over my dead body ".

" just might happen " he shrugged while putting some throttle into the bike as I lunged forward on to him. I quickly wrapped my arms around him as he chuckled.

" asshole " I muttered as he sped off from the gas station heading to usc campus.

As he pulled into the parking space on campus he took his helmet off and helped me take mine off. " I did you a favor " he said while sitting his helmet on his bike.

" excuse me? " I chuckled a bit irritated. " I did you a favor now it's you turn " he said handing me the bag of medicine and the helmet I was wearing.

" why are you handing me these " I said pushing them on to his chest as he repeated doing back to me. " I need you to give those to someone ".

I looked at him up and down confused as I shook my head " not my medicine not my problem " I said visibly aggravated.

" relax hay it's this girl I know she's my Cousin her name Is Capri I just need you to give this medicine to her, she lives in a usc dorm suit i'll show yo- " I cut him off.

" wait coco's your cousin? " I asked with a smile " Yeah she is, you know her or something " he asked turning off his bike.

" Yeah she's a close friend and she lives right next to me " I said fixing the gas station bag so it could be more comfortable on my hands.

" sweet then you can deliver that to her " he nodded to me. " I guess I can " I shrugged walking off. I looked back to see him walking to his dorm.

Capri has really good genes in her family I thought to myself as I headed upstairs to her suite. When I got there I knocked on the door and gave her the medicine.

" Thanks hay " she said with a slight smile, " wait, how did you know I was sick? " she said turning around to face me before she let me in her suite.

" oh I had bumped into your cousin Jace at the gas station and he offered me a ride back up to the school campus and then gave me the medicine to take to you "

" oh okay, why were you at the gas station I thought you were spending the weekend with Ian " her question made me froze.

" we just got in a bad argument and I needed to leave " I put on a smile to convince her everything was okay.

" alright well i'm gonna take this medicine and go back to sleep ". I nodded and headed out the door only to walk a few steps and be at my dorm.

I walked in and let out a sigh, I was so exhausted. " hey you're back home late " my sister said while cooking something on the stove.

I shrugged with a slight smile trying not to breakdown crying. " Im gonna go get in the shower " I said rubbing my hands against my eyes to stop tears.

" okay, how was your date weekend with Ian " I stopped in my tracks " we got in an argument " I shrugged going into the bathroom for no more follow up questions.

I started up the warm water and hopped in, finally feeling some inch of relaxation from this long day.
