There was a loud sound and someone came rolling down the stairs. Everybody sprinted towards the origin of the sound. It wasn't a regular site, a girl was on the floor, at the end of the staircase and in pain.

In front of her stood a boy, in his late teens, looking rather ravishing but stunned at what had just happened.
The girl he spoke to minutes before was laying on the floor screeching in pain. She was a sight to behold, her hair all messed up, whites she was wearing having gone black from the fall, her hand covered in wounds as she had just used them to stop the fall any further.

Tiniest drop of blood dripping down her right wrist, light brown eyes and black hairs. She was in a state of complete disarray yet something about her was peculiar.

A day before,

"Hey Gennie, did you get the internship?" said Lyla, she was desperate to know as she had recommended her to the company.

"Geez, how could you forget! The interview's tomorrow" said Gennie from other side of the line, sounding annoyed.

They have been friends since sophomore year, now that college is coming to an end, they are out looking for internships. Lyla's mom is manager in a software company, the one where Gennie is supposed to interview tomorrow.

Well Lyla sounds much excited and nervous for her, more than she is. She has never been much excited about this internship as a matter of fact even this career too.

The only thing that makes her go through her classes is the reward she gifts herself at the end of the day, 2 matches of Being legends at night for not slacking off in the day. Her achievements in Bening legends make her proud of herself. Looking at them she feels a sense of accomplishment. One she never felt in these four years, achieving good grades in her exams. Don't get her wrong, she felt happy but never took pride in it.
Her mind wondering what it will be like after college working as a programmer.

She chose this field as she it was the closest, she could get to video games, growing up she was always around guys.

She had a cousin brother who stayed in the same building as hers. She has played with cars more than barbies, wore t-shirts and shorts more than dresses, ran in races more than playing kitchen set. She had more guy friends than female friends. She had always felt it was easier to talk to guys-less drama, less jealousy. Video games became her sanctuary, a constant through the turmoil of her teenage years. Now even after stepping in the 20s they still hold a major importance in her life. Especially this PC game called Being Legends.

She started playing it in sophomore year, when she was still this chubby, introverted student who was overwhelmed with the new curriculum, new people around her, new environment and that unkind old treatment and bullying. It's so saddening how different she got treated in the smallest of things just because she wasn't perfect. How even her own parents pointed it out at every instance. She started isolating herself, lost hold of her friends. She didn't try to make new friends after that. She has had a happening life in middle school after that everything went wrong. Her grades dropped, she put on some pounds, her relationship with her parents hit quite a turmoil. Her high school years were probably the worst years of her life. It had got a hold of her so hard that she gave up hope, slept into depression and that's when she met this senior of her in library who was giving out posters for an pc games club, whose aim was to spread awareness about esports as a career. He amused her as he was standing alone. Other clubs had tones of people just for managing them let alone the students in the club. That was when she showing some courage took up pc games club. Seeing her some other people to took part in it. Our club never really met as a whole, we used to just team up and played games online. He introduced her to this game. That's how she began playing being legends.
