Third person pov:

In the quiet town of Asakusa, where cherry blossoms danced in the spring breeze and lanterns illuminated the night with their warm glow, two souls wandered through life, unaware of the fateful intertwining that awaited them.

Giyuu, a stoic figure clad in a mismatched haori that mirrored his calm demeanor, often found solace by the tranquil riverbank. The water glimmered under the sun's embrace, reflecting not just its light but also Giyuu's unspoken thoughts—thoughts that swirled like currents beneath his placid exterior.

He had always been a solitary man, devoted to his duties as a Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps. Emotions were an unfamiliar territory for him; he preferred to keep them at bay like shadows on a moonlit night. Yet as spring unfolded its petals around him, there was an unsettling warmth blooming within—a feeling he usually felt with people he loved, like his friends, family, his master and more.

On one such afternoon when Giyuu sought refuge by the riverside, he heard laughter—a bright and effervescent sound that was so familiar that it pierced through his usual tranquility. He turned to see Kyoujuro approaching with exuberance only he could possess. Dressed in the cape of vibrant colors reminiscent of flames dancing against the backdrop of twilight skies, Kyoujuro radiated energy that seemed to ignite everything around him.

Head canon: Tanjiro and Nezuko would regularly plot ways to kill Kyoujuro (if you're smart tell me why).

"Giyuu!" Kyoujuro called out enthusiastically as he approached. "You must join me! The cherry blossoms are in full bloom today! We should celebrate!"

A usual smile that only a handful of people could bring broke through Giyuu's otherwise stoic visage as he regarded Kyoujuro—the Flame Hashira whose passion for life was contagious and bewildering to someone so reserved like himself, yet he was the first of people to be close to Kyoujuro, "I suppose I can spare some time," Giyuu replied softly.

Together they ventured into a grove filled with cherry blossom trees heavy with pink blooms swaying gently overhead. Underneath their branches, laughter echoed—a beautiful symphony harmonizing with nature's melody. Kyoujuro twirled amidst petals falling like snowflakes from above while recounting tales of bravery and adventure from past missions; each word igniting sparks in Giyuu's heart. He loved hearing from Kyoujuro, whether about Senjuro, Tengen, or his missions, it didn't matter. It was the same with Kyoujuro, he would watch Giyuu do the simplest of things and not get bored.

As dusk began to cloak the sky in shades of orange and purple, they settled down on a blanket spread over soft grass sprinkled with fallen petals—an oasis carved out by their camaraderie amid nature's splendor.

Head canon:  When Shinobu and Obanai decide to hang out, their favorite thing to do is sit in silence at a garden or beautiful place, despite them being ruthless you would think they would go killing demons for fun.

"You know," Kyoujuro said thoughtfully while gazing up at stars beginning to emerge one by one against twilight's canvas, "there is something incredibly comforting about being together." His voice held an earnestness that stirred something deep within Giyuu—a yearning he had never acknowledged before.

"I feel it too, every time we talk" Giyuu admitted quietly after a pause; words came easier than expected when spoken under such intimacy draped between them like silk threads, binding two hearts together across an unseen chasm.

Kyoujuro turned towards him fully now—the amber light catching glimmers within those fiery eyes brimming with hope and kindness. "Then let us cherish this moment forever!" With every shared glance under starlit skies came unspoken promises wrapped delicately between breaths laden with unyielding emotions—two contrasting forces converging seamlessly: flame meeting water without fear or hesitation.

Head canon: Senjuro still keeps the hair tie Giyuu gave him.

Days turned into weeks, and Kyoujuro decided not to retire, thankfully he was still in good shape after remedial training, and his eye wasn't a problem since he had enhanced senses, not his hearing though.

One day while standing atop a cliff overlooking endless waves crashing below—nature's symphony resonating loudly amid whispers carried forth upon winds brushing against skin—they felt it: love blossoming even more vibrantly than cherry blossoms lining paths walked countless times before.

"What if we were more than just friends, comrades, or best friends?" Kyoujuro asked boldly, finally ready to confess his love, after contemplating silence layered thickly around them both, during sunset hours stretching far beyond mere physical boundaries,  separating two souls yearning desperately for connection transcending all else previously known...

Giyuu's heart raced at those words, laced heavily amongst uncertainty yet undeniable truth lingering just beneath surface tension building slowly between them until finally breaking free—the dam bursting wide open, revealing vulnerability long kept hidden behind walls erected out of duty rather than desire itself!

Head canon: Tengen and Kagaya used to have private meeting with each other about how to make Eclipse sail (and Kanae, possibly Shinobu, too).

"More?" He echoed breathlessly; curiosity mingling effortlessly alongside trepidation swirling wildly inside chest, beating rapidly due to sheer intensity radiating off the mere presence beside him.

"Yes! A partnership forged stronger than any blade wielded against evil dwelling ever closer!"

That by itself was like confession.

There was fire burning brightly alive, reflected back at him now sparking courage ignited anew lighting path forward, once lost somewhere along way back toward home defined differently now altogether perhaps possible future, beckoning enticingly onward inviting exploration beyond limits.

Head canon: Sanemi and Masachika were like Sabito to Giyuu (would definitely ship Sanemi and Masachika, or Sanemi and Sabito, or Masachika and Sabito, all as crackships though, except Sanemi and Masachika, that's a rare pair).

With newfound resolve shimmering brightly lighting darkest corners, obscured hidden depths longing to be explored, waiting patiently to be discovered, awaiting a right moment to get ready to unfold, beautifully unfurled wings flight soaring high above seas crashing.

As they stood hand-in-hand watching sun dip below horizon, painting sky shades warm embracing hues resembling fire melting waters, pooling tender caresses kindred spirits entwined, they couldn't help but feel emotional.

Both of them looked at each other, then at the sky, and started laughing.

They jumped in each other's arms, still laughing as the sky became a murky grey.

"Since the day I've met you Giyuu, I've never felt anything but love, I would do anything for you, truly, and I'll always have your back,"

Those words brought tears to Giyuu's eyes, and he could barely breathe as he replied to his patient lover.

"I always thought.... I always thought you just saw me as a friend. I never wanted to love someone again because I was afraid to lose them..."

Head canon: If Masachika were alive he and Obanai would fight about who is Sanemi's best friend

Kyoujuro knew, because most demon slayers had lost loved ones, and it was obvious Giyuu was no different.

Kyoujuro placed a gentle kiss on the other's forehead, keeping the comforting silence. Tears were overflowing out of Giyuu's eyes, but who could blame him? Most of the time since he was a child the only person that ever loved him was Tsutako, hell he barely even knew his parents! And then it was Sabito. But both were gone now.

But he made a new family, and he hopes someday he would get over the people he lost.

"Do you promise... To never leave me or go against me?"

Giyuu's voice was so soft and quiet like the first day Kyoujuro met him, that it broke his heart. Because he knew Giyuu's voice was quiet with people he barely knew, but Kyoujuro had known him for years.

"If the whole universe were against you I still wouldn't leave you my love."

They were beautiful, and they were meant for each other, It was cute how they complemented yet contrasted each other so much, and the way they were vulnerable with each other was just adorable. Their love for each other was perfect, fairy tale like.

They spent the night in each other's arms, still coated by a blanket of petals, sleeping in each other's embrace, not knowing what awaits them the next day.
