jaehyun and suji walked home side by side, having an unknown feeling swirling around their bodies as they stole glances at each other.the sound of riwoo and sungho racing down the street and laughing could be heard, while taesan and heojin had quietly departed.
leehan fell asleep on woonhaks couch while they were all saying goodbye, and therefore it was decided that he would be staying the night.
"being here without you didn't feel right," he interrupted the silence with his words. "i'm upset that i didn't see the first few years of you guys in highschool. i feel like i missed out on a lot and now it's going to be different." she crossed her arms over her chest as she spoke.
he was surprised at the reveal of her honest thoughts. the boy rubbed the back of his nape. "i cried for a month after you left. it may feel different because we look different, but we all still love you. i was really really upset at you though," he admitted, sparking her curiosity. his words did ease her mind a little though.
"mad at me?" she turned to face him as she awaited his response.
"yes. after the first little while, you didn't call or text. i had thought you forgot all about me. i spent all this time saying that i missed you, and you didn't think about me once," he expressed, making sujis heart break.
"you think i didn't miss you? i missed you more than anyone else! i told everyone over there that you were my best friend, and you always would be."
jaehyun felt a pang in his heart at the words. he chose to ignore that; and rather focus on the fact that she still loved him like she did when they were kids.
"can you stay over at mine? i won't be able to sleep if i know you're across the tree from me." he admitted sheepishly. suji genuinely smiled at this. "i was gonna say the same thing. myungjae knows me too well," she teased, rubbing his head and messing up his hair.
he grinned and fixed his hair before turning to look at her. the two had arrived in between their two large houses, and faced each other.
jaehyun felt his ears redden at the sight of her. she had grown so well, and she still had the same loveable features that he was so used to up until three years ago.
her nose looked the exact same, while her lips seemed pinker and her jaw seemed more defined. she hadn't grown much, and was shorter than all of them now, besides heojin.
the last time he had seen her, she was taller than riwoo and leehan. her skin had become paler and she had such a cool aura following her.
"i'll leave my window open. come to me when you've changed," he smiled at her before running up into his home, unlocking the door and stepping inside before sending her a short wave.
he held the same upbeat energy that he always had. the kind of energy that lead him to be all the parents favourite, and caused all of the girls in elementary school and middle school to have a crush on him.
